I shake my head and roll my suitcase to the hallway and leave it to make my way to her bedroom.

“Sky I’m going to come in..Do you need to cover up?”

“For what.  It’s not like you haven’t seen me naked before”

I chuckle and enter her room and smile when I see her trying to force her nipple into Tristan’s mouth but he just refuses to accept it and winces a little

“Ughhh.  It was easy in the hospital and now he doesn’t even want it and I need to express this milk soon if he doesn’t take it”

“Sky.  When did he have his last feeding?” I ask and fold my arms waiting for her answer

“2 hours ago”

I nod. “Can I hold him for a minute” I ask and she nods as I walk over and she hands him over to me. He begins to gurgle. I grab the burping cloth from the bedside table draping over my shoulder while Skylar temporarily covers her breast

“Ok Tristan” I say sweetly and hold him where his face falls slowly in my shoulder.  I begin to pat his back

“He was burped earlier” Skylar announces and I ignore her and keep patting and rubbing his small back

“Brrruk” Tristan belted out along with a nice glob of spit up which thankfully went directly onto the burping cloth.

“Hand me a wipe Skylar”

“Oh God my baby is sick” She says panicking and hands me a wipe

I pull Tristan away from me and cradle him in my arms wiping his chin from the spit up and drool

“Calm down..He’s ok.  He just burped it up. I guess it just didn’t settle well”

Skylar shakes her head “How did you know even to do that.  I thought he was hungry because he woke up kind of fussy”

I hand Tristan back to Skylar and he is sound asleep again. I shrug

“You remember me telling you about Lindsay that works with me in London”

She nods

“Her apartment was being repainted and she had nowhere else to go. Her husband went offshore shortly after the baby was born so I offered for her to stay with me. I helped her with her baby and well I just recognized the signs”
