Wings of An Angel – Bette and Tina – Chapter 10

    Wyatt & Smyth Veterinarian Partnership

Meanwhile at the clinic, Tina was holding a teams meeting with her staff to discuss the grant that was awarded to fund their DNA project for the next three years; a grant that was to be utilized for the discovery of a potential cure.  The meeting had been in session for almost two hours and the only presentation left was to be given by Tina.  As Tina approached the blackboard she felt a cloak of dark shadows interrupt her train of thought; she paused.  The cup of coffee began to shiver in her hand, she was having difficulty in breathing, her legs started to shake, her body felt weak.  Tinas emotional connection with Bette was severed; she trembled from the cold that was surrounding her heart.  Samantha reacted quickly to Tinas sudden change in demeanor.  Tina?  Whats wrong?  With worried eyes that were cascading numerous tears, Something has happened to Bette, Sam.  I cant feel her.  I cant feel her anymore.  Tina faints.

    Chapter 10

The entwined connection between two souls is a mysterious representation of how fate can be the beginning of ones love life or the ending of a path that journeyed the historic era of a solitary life to discover the wonders of the uncivilized world.  There are ghosts among the living; and those that are living are too consumed in their own imagined creations that the world is full of walking zombies.  How can we justify what should be granted the existence of survival?  How can we justify why God would take away the soul that has consumed your every breath?  How can we validate what the definition of life means to one person when we dont live our life the way we were meant to be borne for?  The glories of lifes mysteries drive us to understand the purpose of why we are here.  An aspiration that wont be solved until it is our time to go.

St. Patricks Hospital – 10:30 P.M. – Emergency Waiting Room

A deathly silence greeted Tina at the entrance of St. Patricks Hospital where Bette and a young boy (that no one knew) was brought to after being rescued from the hand held flames of the devils hotel for approximately seven hours.  Tina rigidly stood at the automatic sensor doors; she couldnt make herself walk through the shelter of the unknown.  She was rooted to the concrete ground for there was no Trojan horse or carriage to transport her to the forgotten world.  With her head hanging heavily on her chest, Tina couldnt bring herself to breath as her core reason to capture the need of life was slowly drifting away from her.  As much as everyone tried to shield her from the pain and mental suffering of her heart, she would not give up on her Bette.  I have loved Bette from the moment I felt her presence.  She promised that she wouldnt leave me and I plan on holding Bette to her exact words.  No one argued, no one dared to speak on the impossible and unidentifiable truth that Bette might just not make it.  No one was brave enough to dwell on the mission of giving a sermon and watching the light of Tinas soul fade into the darkness of nothingness.  She wont leave me.  She wont leave me.  Tina repeatedly said those words out loud to who ever would listen to her chant, but most importantly to herself because she couldnt allow herself to think otherwise.

    1. I actually have to agree with slipperynipple. I like this story and love how you don’t just rush through things (unlike IC & Co. since they only have a maximum of 60 minutes a week to play with), but I actually had to keep stopping while reading this so I wouldn’t wear myself out. Introducing the supernatural was a good idea seeing as it would take a miracle for someone to come out of an incident like that alive.

    2. I found your story today and spent my afternoon reading it. This is intriguing me. The thing I am most curious about is the little boy, something is weird with that situation. I am wondering if this is going to be an adventure like the movie “What dreams may come.” Will we find the little boy helping Tina face the Angel of Death? This story is also reminding me of Stephen king’s book “Rose Madder.” Although I really enjoy this story and your writing is great I would have to agree with slipperynipple about the length in certain parts. It can take away from the story. other than that I am enjoying it, please continue!

    3. Cool! I seem to be drifting into the dark side of the world lately. The fight between Tina and the Dark Lord was intriguing. The Angel of Life just seemed to stand their and let Tina fight for Bette. The only time that you saw it or it was mentioned was when they were running down the hall and that Angel was running beside Bette. It will take all that Tina can give to Bette to keep her alive. Please post soon.

    4. Good to see you back Leo and this is good chapter. When Tina talk to the Angel of Death is scary, ok glad Bette ok now and hope she will wake up soon. OK post soon please, thanks!

    5. Leo, god damn – you have been gone so long and then you give us the chapter from hell :o)……holy christ this was intense leo – absolutely amazing. Pleas do continue – We so want more, but please not so much drama on the next one eventhought we love it :o) Post soon

    6. Well, so you disappear and then out of nowhere….BANG, after that chapter you once again have our attention…pls don’t ever go away that long again….I will assume that you are busy writing the next, and the next, and the next chapters….as you owe us big time….almost forgot….THANKYOU

    7. Ya know this will be the first time I will write this. The story is good but this was too much. I think I skipped to the ending. The middle took to long and took me along a path I was not very interested in. But believe me this does not mean that the story did not have the desired affect but sometimes less is more. Could of done without some of the death part and the construction site part. Thanks for the story

    8. Three months and thirteen days……..three months and thirteen days is how long you had a woman waiting…(its this how you threat your women)…….LE0, three months and thirteen days………..BUT it was worth the wait………….This chapter by far is your best……The struggle that Tina is going through to keep Bette where she belongs is heart felt…………The fight that she has with the Angel of Death clearly shows how in love she is with Bette and how far she will go to keep her…………..Now PLEASE let Tina win this fight so we can find out the mystery about Bette and Kit………..WE want a happy ending………Now I’ll only waiting THREE HOURS AND THIRTEEN MINUTES this time…………Please continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    9. Leo, welcome back although it’s been WAY TOO LONG. What an ambitious and complex chapter, thank you! If you ever feel another writer’s block coming on consider writing a simpler 1 or 2 pager to keep the creative juices flowing and keep in touch with your readers.
