Wings of an Angel – Bette and Tina – Chapter 9

An hour of their arrival had passed whereby the fire place was providing warm shelter from the cool windy evening, the groceries were placed in the cabinets and fridge, clothes were neatly packed away in the cherry wood dresser draws, the bathroom was stocked with the basic toiletries required and the company of each other was more than enough to sustain the ambience of endless bliss. “So, are you ready to see the rest of what this place has to offer?” Bette enjoyed the childlike glow emanating from Tina and realized that Tina’s excitement was flowing into her as well. “I guess the only place left would be the basement”, Bette stated with mischief in her eyes as her smile danced across her face. Tina was fascinated with Bette’s facial expression and her smile was extremely contagious that she asked, “Why do I get the feeling that you picked this cabin for a certain reason?” Bette took Tina’s hand and guided her towards the back of the lodge to descend into the basement, “How about we find out together”. Upon reaching the final step, Bette flicks the light switch and both are greeted with the enormous space that has been constructed into a small games room with a pool and table tennis, a compact laundry room and a closed door that held Bette’s passionate secret. “Hmmmm, I wonder what is behind door number one?”
Tina eyed Bette suspiciously and said, “I guess I am about to find out”. Tina circles her free hand around the handle, turns the knob counter clockwise and pushes the door forward to reveal a dark enclosed sanctuary. Tina looks back at Bette for permission to travel further inside and reads the plea in Bette’s vision to go ahead. As Tina takes a step into the quiet enclosure, she places her hand on the left side of the wall to feel the resemblance of a light switch, which doesn’t take long for her to find. As the silhouette of the chandelier creates a haven of inner tranquility, Tina is greeted with a man made aquarium that is housed with scented flowers from roses, lilies, carnations to birds of paradise, plants of all dimensions from exotic wonders of the world, a family of stereo produced birds ranging from doves, parrots and owls and surrounded within this private isle of mystery is a bubbling whirl pool creating mists of see through steam. “Bette . . . this is so beautiful”, Tina declares as she squeezes Bette’s hand while she takes in the scenery before her. “Nothing is as beautiful as you, T”, Bette announces as she brings their clasped palms towards her mouth so that she can kiss Tina’s hand. “There is one more surprise”, Bette states as she walks Tina closer to the whirl pool where a small remote is situated on the right side corner of the hot tub. Bette faces Tina and brushes a soft kiss across her lips, gathers the remote in her free hand and pushes a button. “Look up”. As Tina raises her head, the aluminum roof began to expose the greenhouse to the moon lighted sky with diamonds shining in the night; changing the surroundings into a glass covered gazebo.

Hooolly shit!!!!! Bette has got to be nuts I would have knocked that kids ass out and drag him to safety. Now I can only hope that your not doing the Ghost scenario and Bette is still alive but since the story is entitled Wings of an Angel I don’t have much hope otherwise.

I finally got finished with your story up to this point. All of it is so intense I swear it’s like being in a marathon and I have to keep stopping so I can breathe. Obviously I am wishing for a happy ending and am sticking to my idea that Kyle is the angel mentioned in the title.
