“Why does that matter?”

“It matters to me” Jess sighed

“Truthfully, I’d have told you to end the pregnancy”

Jess turned to look at Carmen “Seriously?”

“Yes…your far too important to me for me to jeopardise your life, you’re my whole world and I don’t think you quite understand that, you don’t trust me okay that’s fine”

“I do trust you, I was angry I shouldn’t have said that, I just don’t want you to leave again”

“I’m not going anywhere as of yesterday I’m unemployed” Carmen stated “Jess I couldn’t give a shit about anything other than you”

“I really want this baby Carmen” Jess wiped her tears

“Jess I really want to hug you right now, but you made it pretty clear you don’t want me to touch you but I hate seeing you upset and I’m struggling right now with your don’t touch me rule…”

“I didn’t mean that either” Jess admitted

That was all the indication Carmen needed, she moved from lying on the bed so she was sitting next to Jess and then pulled her into her arms.

“Do you want this baby?”

“I want you and right now that’s all I can think about” Carmen said cupping Jess’s face in her hands “Jess if it comes between you or this baby I’ll chose you everytime”

“I’m sorry I smashed your car” Jess apologised causing Carmen to laugh

“No you’re not, but it’s fine it’s just a car”

“I was rather temperamental that day” Jess smiled

“Your temperamental everyday but I love you” Carmen stated

They were interrupted with the door quietly opening; the both turned their attention to the door to see a half asleep Bette standing there.

“I was just checking where you both were” Bette admitted

“I’m 27 Mama I’m a big girl” Jess joked

“Your my girl and now I know the truth you’re on bed arrest” Bette stated “both of you should be asleep”

“Says you standing there like an extra in the walking dead”

“Glad to see you have your sense of humour back Jessica, I had this funny inclination you weren’t where you should be and would you look at that I was correct” Bette folded her arms “Bedtime…you need to rest”

“Yes okay I’m going jeez!” Jess sighed “You all tell me to talk to her, now I am and you’re sending me to bed, I can’t win”

“It’s nearly 5 in the morning” Bette stated “Why are you both even awake?”

“I couldn’t sleep, my head is in overdrive” Carmen stated

“Yep what she said, I’ll go with that”

“Well you have a doctor’s appointment at 12 so you need to sleep” Bette said “Goodnight you two”

With that Bette left the room

“Go to sleep, we’ll talk tomorrow” Carmen said kissing Jess on the head

“Come with me, I don’t like you being in here” Jess said getting of the bed and holding out her hand for Carmen, Carmen looked at Jess before reaching and grabbing her phone of the nightstand and then accepting Jess’s hand

She was surprised to see their bedroom exactly the way it was when she left, nothing had been moved from her nightstand and all her belongings remained exactly where she left them.

“What? Did you expect me to ruin you things? Jez I’m not that dramatic” Jess smirked lifting her phone to put it on charge before getting into her side of the bed

“That’s debatable” Carmen smiled pulling of her hoodie and jeans and quickly getting changed into shorts and a tank top before getting into bed, she automatically wrapped her arms around Jess pulling her close. Jess placed Carmen’s hand on her bump clasping her hand through it.  Carmen took a deep breath in trying to hold her own emotions in.

“I love you too” Jess said softly “I’m glad your home”

Carmen just tightened her grasp around Jess as they both drifted off to sleep
