Chapter Seven

“You look beautiful as always” Bette said as Tina approached. Tonight she had stood by the bars waiting for her beloved to come.

“No, babe you’re the beautiful one.”  Tina replied stooping down on her knees. She gave Bette a soft kiss on the lips. “I missed you”

“You only saw me this afternoon” the cheerful brunette said smiling like she had just struck gold. In truth finding Tina felt like she had really struck gold.

“How are your ribs” she asked concerned. “I knew you were lying to me earlier about feeling okay.”

Bette lowered her head. The blonde had seen right through her. “I didn’t want you to leave me, that’s why I pretended to be okay.”

“Don’t worry about that I wouldn’t have left you if a lion was chasing me” I would never leave you.

They kissed hard and passionately. It felt so good to finally give in and love this incredible woman in front of her.  Tina released Bette’s lips.

“There you are” came Henry’s voice. He yanked Tina to her feet. “You little bitch. I knew you couldn’t resist the charms of this quadroon.”

Tina tried to fight the bastard off but he was too strong.”I’m going to teach you about a real man”

She gasped! Tina had never been with a man before. “Let go of me you asshole” She screamed trying to get out of his grasp.

“Such foul language from a pretty mouth” He said.

In the heat of the struggle both had forgotten about Bette. “Let her go or I’ll scream for help.”

“That doesn’t scare me since I gave everyone the night off and if you do scream I’ll cut her” He pulled out a six inch knife and held it to Tina’s face.

“Bette, help me’ Tina screamed. Henry placed a hand over Tina’s mouth.

“No” Bette moaned out. She believed every word that came out of that filthy hole on Henry’s face.  She watched on as Henry dragged Tina off into the darkness.

She pulled on the horse’s reins. The sky was as black as ever, the stars and the moon were hidden behind the thick clouds that were accumulating. A storm was definitely brewing; she hoped her mission would be over before its arrival.
