You Can Always Remember What You Can Never Forget (Chap24)

"Mamas!!!" Both Bette and Tina smiled at happy their girl was to see them. Bette bent down and picked her up and squeezed her tight and Tina leaned over and showered Angie with kisses.

Shane walked in the front room and was looking back and forth at the women trying to get a sense of their mood. They seemed better than before but she wasn’t sure if they were actually better or putting on a brave face for their baby.

"I think I will go her ready for her bath." Tina said taking Angie from Bette’s arms.

"Good idea. I will meet you in there in a min."

"Ok" Tina and Angie walked away.

Bette knew that Shane must have a million questions, but she also knew Shane was the one friend who wouldn’t ask.

"Shane I know you must have a lot of questions- we all do. I just want to thank you for being our friend and helping us through this time and I ask you to be patient and let Tina and I figure some stuff out before we talk about it."

"Bette of coarse. You know I won’t butt into your business and I will try my best to keep the other vultures away. Are you still planning to go away this weekend?"

"Thank you again. Yes we are still going- we will plan to drop Angie off around  3 or 4 if that is ok. I will check in with you in the morning to see how we are looking."

"sounds good! Have a good night!" Shane heads for the door and just as she gets past Bette she quickly turns around and hugs her tightly "I’m pulling for you guys." She whispered in Bette ear and then quickly heads out the front door. Bette realized what an amazing friend truly was. Bette wandered into the bathroom where she heard Angie giggling like crazy. She walked in further and saw a site that warmed her heart .Tina was kneeling next to the tub covered in  water and bubbles and Angie was laughing so hard and splashing around.

"Sounded like fun in here so I thought I would join you."

Tina looked up and smiled. "Yea she is having  blast."

    1. I really wish Tina was a little more… understanding toward Bette. I know she’s going through a tough time, but this is push and pull to the extreme. Bette’s being really supportive, but things would work better if they had a steady forward pace rather than starts and stops. Just do what feels natural, Tina, and stop caring about everything else. But don’t jump her when you get the happy memories and then kick her when you realize you don’t really know her. It’s not cool and it’d be the kinda of behavior that would eventually break up even the strongest of relationships. Anyway, this was a great update. PPS!

    2. Thanks for the update. I hope the weekend away alone brings them closer together. I think Bette is doing an amazing job of being supportive and loving with Tina. Maybe this time away without outside interference will help her to better understand where Tina is coming from so that it won’t feel so much like she’s going from one extreme to the other. I think Tina is doing the best she can under the circumstances too. I think her memories trigger her emotions, she acts on them but doesn’t have a foundation to keep building on at this point. That has got to be really frightening. Please post again soon.

    3. I feel for Tina. It’s not easy being her right now; she loves Bette but doesn’t remember much. And Bette is unusually ‘a saint’. Loving the story. Thk u.
