You Can Always Remember What You Can Never Forget (Chap24)

"I got Mama T wet" Angie laughed.

"Yea I see that Boo." Bette knelt down next to Tina.

"I guess we can let her play a little- she really loves the water."

"Yes she sure does." Bette was torn between watching her little girl giggle and play or watching her soul mate be a wonderful mom. It was tough choice so she just kept going back and forth. Tina picked up on it.

"Do I look ridiculous with these bubbles everywhere?"

"No no- you look great." Bette said shyly

Tina felt herself blush- it was amazing that with a few words Bette could make her whole body react. Tina went back to playing with Angie. Both moms tried to focus on their little girl right now. They let Angie play for a little longer and then took her out and worked together to get her dried off and dressed. They all went back into the living room where Angie started to watch cartoons.

"T- are you hungry? I just realized we haven’t really eaten today."

"Yea I am actually. What should we do for dinner?"

"Order something? I know I’m too tired to think about cooking."

    "That sounds perfect. Chinese?"

"You read my mind." Bette went to the kitchen to get the menu and then ordered a huge Chinese spread.  They were trying to keep things light after the intense day they had together. The food arrived and they ate in relative silence. Both fawning over Angie as she ate her fried rice. It was then time to put the baby down. Bette kissed her good night and proceeded to clean up while Tina put her down. Angie fell asleep in Tina’s arms and she was hesitate to put her down and go back out to the living room because she didn’t want to have another intense interaction with Bette. She evenually put angie in her crib and noticed the light on in the guest room. She walked in and saw Bette making the bed.

"Hey what are you doing?" Tina asked softly

"Oh well I had Sonya washed the sheets so I was just getting the bed ready for you, I figured you were probably exhausted after the long day we had…"

"Bette- what do you mean? You want me to sleep in here?" Tina interrupted

    1. I really wish Tina was a little more… understanding toward Bette. I know she’s going through a tough time, but this is push and pull to the extreme. Bette’s being really supportive, but things would work better if they had a steady forward pace rather than starts and stops. Just do what feels natural, Tina, and stop caring about everything else. But don’t jump her when you get the happy memories and then kick her when you realize you don’t really know her. It’s not cool and it’d be the kinda of behavior that would eventually break up even the strongest of relationships. Anyway, this was a great update. PPS!

    2. Thanks for the update. I hope the weekend away alone brings them closer together. I think Bette is doing an amazing job of being supportive and loving with Tina. Maybe this time away without outside interference will help her to better understand where Tina is coming from so that it won’t feel so much like she’s going from one extreme to the other. I think Tina is doing the best she can under the circumstances too. I think her memories trigger her emotions, she acts on them but doesn’t have a foundation to keep building on at this point. That has got to be really frightening. Please post again soon.

    3. I feel for Tina. It’s not easy being her right now; she loves Bette but doesn’t remember much. And Bette is unusually ‘a saint’. Loving the story. Thk u.
