You Can Always Remember What You Can Never Forget (Chap26)

"Well I guess I did something right."

"you did and we are just a great fit."

"Very true. So mmm let’s see what else I wanna know about? Well I have a depressing thought."

    "Ok I can handle it."

"Have you thought at all about what will happen if I don’t my memory back."

"Well I did in the beginning. But Tina it’s only been a month. I’m not ready to give up yet and you shouldn’t either."

"I know- I was just curious if you had thought about it. I have, and it scares me, but I feel like we could still build a good life together."

"It makes me feel good to hear you say that and I would of coarse still want a life with you. I mean even though you don’t remember, you are the same Tina to me. You’re kindness and your beauty are the same and you are an amazing mother."

"Thank you- I have loved creating a bond with Angie. She is such an amazing little girl. I can’t believe her birth was scary."

"Yea that was the most scared I’ve been in my whole life."

"Have we ever talked about having more kids?"

"Yes we have. Since you had such a hard pregnancy and the miscarriage we talk about adopting."

"What about you? You wouldn’t want to carry our next child?"

Bette eyes filled with tears. "You never asked me that before."

"Well I"m asking you now." Tina took Bette’s hands in hers "Would you like to carry our next child?"

Bette couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down her face. She needed to  take a moment before she was even able to speak

"T- we are a long way off from this discussion. We need to focus on getting your memory back."

"I know that- but obviously this is something that means a lot to you- your emotions are pretty transparent right now." Tina said as she smiled softly, reaching over to wipe the tears off Bette’s cheek.

"Well yes it is emotional. That is one of the things that you have done to hurt me in the past 6 months. Our relationship has been wonderful, besides this one little thing. We talked about having another baby and you immediately went into the adoption process never thinking for a second that I might want to carry our next child."

"God Bette I’m so sorry. I wish I could tell you why I didn’t ask you." Tina moved over so Bette was now sitting between Tina’s legs and she held onto her cheeks with her hands and looked deep into her eyes. "I hate to see you upset. It literally breaks my heart."

Bette smiled at this statement- it felt good to have Tina care so much about her. "Thanks T. I hope this is a conversation we can have again in the future."

"Me too." Tina couldn’t control herself she needed to soothe Bette. She leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. Bette was tired of resisting, she wanted to be comfoted by Tina- the one person in this whole world that could truly make her feel ok in an instant.

The two kissed softly- the kiss wasn’t about passion, but about comfort and understanding. Tina finally pulled away so she wouldn’t get too carried away and she held Bette tightly and let her cry.

    1. As difficult as the situation is now maybe in the long run it’s a good thing. It’s up to them to take the chance to clear the air and discuss the relationship from a new point of view. PPS.

    2. i’m glad you brought up the situation with another baby, and i’m glad B&T are taking it slow and trying to make tina remember everything

    3. Such a wonderful story. Love how hard both are fighting to get their life back on track. I do hope that if a child is produced that Bette does carry him/her.

    4. Tina comforting Bette that’s a good thing. It’s good for them to talk everything out even the hard stuff as long as they don’t let anger get in the way when Tina finds out some of the bad things they have had to work through. If Tina doesn’t get her memory back they will just have to start over again and take it from there. It will probably be hard on Bette remembering what they had but at least she will still have Tina. PPS

    5. That was so touching. This weekend away was a great idea. They’re really connecting on a deeper level. I think even if Tina didn’t get her memory back their relationship would survive because they truly love each other.

    6. Very emotional right now but necessary. Just keep them talking and Tina slowly remembering. I still want to know why she was in the car with the fellow co-worker and where they were going and why. I feel that might trigger her memory faster than anything else. Thanks for posting.
