    Computer talk, dreams, kids, jewelry, and Drs. Fairbanks and McCutcheon try to solve Patient Pieszecki’s dilemma. (AlShaDane, because I needed some). *Please see the note at the end, too, if you have time. It’d mean a lot.*

    Dana tried to digest all of this as she made her way out of the oncology ward – leaving a note for Ari – and headed up the stairs to her psychologist’s office. He seemed to think it’d be good for her to continue her visits, and Dana planned to. Feeling better about herself and her life than she had in months, she stopped for Pad Thai on the way home and hoped she’d beat Alice.

    She’d barely managed to make it to the kitchen before she heard Alice grumbling at the multiple bags of groceries she was carrying, assisted by Shane, Shay, and Helena. “Don’t worry, we’ve unloaded the car,” Helena told Dana as she started unloading the groceries. “Pad Thai, eh? Smells good.”

    “What is it? It looks funny,” Shay commented as he walked past it.

    “Yeah, but it tastes really good. I promise. You guys wanna stay? I think I got enough to feed two Alices, so there should be more than enough for all of us.” Dana barely managed to get out of the way of Alice’s fist in time, laughing as she shoved a plate into her face. “Here, this should tide you over for a few minutes, anyway.”

    “I’m seriously going to hurt you,” Alice muttered, but after the groceries were put away to the point of appeasing the neatfreak in her, she took the plate. They ate in the living room, with trivial conversation and not much else, until Helena had to leave to go pick up her kids and Shane did the same to get ready for her date.

    “I’ll be back later…I’m kinda trying to surprise her with it. Been a long time since I smoked up with her anyway. And no, I’m not having sex with the girl. It’s the new me, stew over that for the next few hours.” Shane moved away from Dana with a laugh. “Come on, Shay, Max is doing a movie night with you and Jared.”

    When their friends had left and the food and plates had been cleaned up, Dana told Alice about Ari. She expected her to protest, given the emotional strain it’d put her through, but Alice didn’t. She just held her hand and listened, and when Dana was done, all Alice did was hug her. “You’re amazing,” she murmured into Dana’s ear. “That’s a great thing to do. Just promise me you won’t let it get to be too much for you, okay?”

    1. Yay, I do believe I’m first! I totally always thought Erin Daniels had a Sheryl Crow-esque look to her, but I thought I was the only one. I loved this update, it was really adorable and so well written. And yeah, I shuddered at the thought of them listening to Mariah Carey.

    3. Alice’s lack of sense of reality is a bit unsettling, but understandable. But getting AlShaDane back together is way cool. Dana eating the rest of the pizza was funny after she told Alice not to buy all garbage at the grocery store, haha. The Ari storyline is growing on me, as it shows Dana’s strength and compassion. Yet I don’t get the backlash against Mariah. I for one felt that for once Dana should get the entertainment of her choice. Circles, twas a nice touch!

Alright, I’m a lurker and never posted because frankly I have too many website accounts and will lose track.But after reading the note at the bottom of this chapter I was forced to sign up just to beg you to somehow continue it.I check for updates pretty much every second day, which sounds creepy but it just shows how much I love this story. I refuse to watch L word after our beloved little ms fairbanks was taken from us and aside from watching season 1 and 2 over and over again this gives me something to actually look foward to. This is the only way danish love continues for me, and to have it taken away again would be toooo tragic. So if you need to end it, do so. But I’m praying you keep going because I don’t know where else to turn to for danish satisfaction.

    5. I love your writing and really enjoy this story. There has never been a bad chapter (I should know — when you posted the latest, I went back and re-read the whole thing). I hope you continue.
