    Computer talk, dreams, kids, jewelry, and Drs. Fairbanks and McCutcheon try to solve Patient Pieszecki’s dilemma. (AlShaDane, because I needed some). *Please see the note at the end, too, if you have time. It’d mean a lot.*

    “Okay,” Dana whispered in reply. She’d have been perfectly content to stay there on the couch in Alice’s arms, but Alice didn’t seem to think too highly of that idea as she stood up.

    “I’ll be right back, I forgot something in the car. It might take a minute.”

    “Al, if it’s something spoilable, I’m afraid there’s no hope left,” Dana called after her. She got no response, though, so she shrugged and decided to put some music on while she waited for Alice to come back in.

    Alice did, about ten minutes later, with a present wrapped in green paper. “What the crap is this? Wah, wah, wah,” she said mockingly to Dana as she entered the living room. “Dana, please don’t tell me you’re listening to Mariah Carey in the house again.”

    “Oh shut up,” Dana told her, rolling her eyes. “This album isn’t bad. And you know you like Circles.”

    Alice sat down heavily, the present balancing precariously on her knee. “Yeah, you’re right, I do like Circles,” she admitted finally. Dana just smiled.

    “And I don’t think you have any room to give me shit…I had to pull a goddamn Proclaimers single out of the CD player before I could play this.”

    “I will not have you talking any shit about that song! It’s awesome! It’s on the Benny & Joon soundtrack, how can you not love it?”

    “Because the lyrics consist of da-da-da-da-da! Those aren’t even words, Al.”

    “I know…but it’s a love song, dammit. I like it. If you can listen to Mariah, I can listen to that,” Alice replied, pouting.

    “Fine, we’ll just both have shitty taste in music. Does that work?”

    “It works fine for me,” Alice replied, handing the package to Dana. “Here. I sat out there and tried to come up with something romantic I could put on the card, but I couldn’t think of anything.”

    Dana opened it slowly, and couldn’t stop herself from tearing up when she pulled out a beautiful silver French rope chain with a small, circular, flat silver pendant attached.

    “I had it engraved,” Alice whispered. “My site’s been doing really well lately, so I got a bonus. I already put some of it toward an elliptical machine for you, but I wanted you to have something pretty. It’s probably stupid…” Alice trailed off uncertainly.

    1. Yay, I do believe I’m first! I totally always thought Erin Daniels had a Sheryl Crow-esque look to her, but I thought I was the only one. I loved this update, it was really adorable and so well written. And yeah, I shuddered at the thought of them listening to Mariah Carey.

    3. Alice’s lack of sense of reality is a bit unsettling, but understandable. But getting AlShaDane back together is way cool. Dana eating the rest of the pizza was funny after she told Alice not to buy all garbage at the grocery store, haha. The Ari storyline is growing on me, as it shows Dana’s strength and compassion. Yet I don’t get the backlash against Mariah. I for one felt that for once Dana should get the entertainment of her choice. Circles, twas a nice touch!

Alright, I’m a lurker and never posted because frankly I have too many website accounts and will lose track.But after reading the note at the bottom of this chapter I was forced to sign up just to beg you to somehow continue it.I check for updates pretty much every second day, which sounds creepy but it just shows how much I love this story. I refuse to watch L word after our beloved little ms fairbanks was taken from us and aside from watching season 1 and 2 over and over again this gives me something to actually look foward to. This is the only way danish love continues for me, and to have it taken away again would be toooo tragic. So if you need to end it, do so. But I’m praying you keep going because I don’t know where else to turn to for danish satisfaction.

    5. I love your writing and really enjoy this story. There has never been a bad chapter (I should know — when you posted the latest, I went back and re-read the whole thing). I hope you continue.
