    Computer talk, dreams, kids, jewelry, and Drs. Fairbanks and McCutcheon try to solve Patient Pieszecki’s dilemma. (AlShaDane, because I needed some). *Please see the note at the end, too, if you have time. It’d mean a lot.*

    Shane showed up a little after ten, admiring Dana’s necklace like a good friend. To say that Alice was surprised by her arrival, stash in tow, would have been an understatement. It wasn’t like she’d never seen Shane with weed before, obviously, but the fact that Dana had had a hand in planning this out shocked her. She was even apparently open to the idea of smoking with them, which made Alice absolutely giddy.

    Not long after Shane arrived, it was like the old days, aside from the fact that Dana was just as high as they were. Alice ordered some pizzas, and they just sat around watching TV for awhile.

    “Alice, did you know that Dana’s had a scrip for medical grade stuff for months now? She never used it. All the good quality stuff gone to waste,” Shane said sadly, shaking her head as Alice glared at Dana.

    “Dammit, I was the one getting your meds refilled, too! If you weren’t gonna use it, you could have at least shared.”

    “That’s what I told her,” Shane replied, laughing as Dana threw her hands in the air.

    “I’m sorry! I didn’t know it was gonna bring about the end of the free world or anything!” she protested loudly, making Alice and Shane laugh, although Alice had the sense to take the joint away from her girlfriend.

    “I think you’ve had enough, honey. Remember what the doc said about drinking, how it’ll affect you differently now after everything? Same with this stuff, and you never even used to smoke.”

    “Fine,” Dana muttered, but then turned her attention to the pizza closest to her on the coffee table. Before any of them knew what had happened, it was gone.

    “Damn, that’s more than I’ve ever seen you eat at one time,” Shane told her in wonder.

    “Not like you couldn’t use some pizza yourself, there, fatass,” Dana replied mockingly.

    “She gets snappy when she’s high. I kinda like it,” Shane mused. “Anyway, Dane, don’t you have your thing with Lance Armstrong this week?”

    “You asked me that last night, Shane. Yeah, I do…hey Al, do you wanna come with me to meet him?” Dana asked, slightly ashamed she’d never thought to ask her before. Alice just waved the suggestion away.

    1. Yay, I do believe I’m first! I totally always thought Erin Daniels had a Sheryl Crow-esque look to her, but I thought I was the only one. I loved this update, it was really adorable and so well written. And yeah, I shuddered at the thought of them listening to Mariah Carey.

    3. Alice’s lack of sense of reality is a bit unsettling, but understandable. But getting AlShaDane back together is way cool. Dana eating the rest of the pizza was funny after she told Alice not to buy all garbage at the grocery store, haha. The Ari storyline is growing on me, as it shows Dana’s strength and compassion. Yet I don’t get the backlash against Mariah. I for one felt that for once Dana should get the entertainment of her choice. Circles, twas a nice touch!

Alright, I’m a lurker and never posted because frankly I have too many website accounts and will lose track.But after reading the note at the bottom of this chapter I was forced to sign up just to beg you to somehow continue it.I check for updates pretty much every second day, which sounds creepy but it just shows how much I love this story. I refuse to watch L word after our beloved little ms fairbanks was taken from us and aside from watching season 1 and 2 over and over again this gives me something to actually look foward to. This is the only way danish love continues for me, and to have it taken away again would be toooo tragic. So if you need to end it, do so. But I’m praying you keep going because I don’t know where else to turn to for danish satisfaction.

    5. I love your writing and really enjoy this story. There has never been a bad chapter (I should know — when you posted the latest, I went back and re-read the whole thing). I hope you continue.
