    You (Part the Seventeenth)

Alice went and sat in the Mini, pulling her phone out after a minute and calling Chandra. "Hey…look, I’m really sorry, but Dana got really sick last night and I don’t feel right about leaving her home alone, okay? Would it be all right if I got a rain check on the dinner?"

Chandra was as understanding as she’d been the night before, and Alice breathed a sigh of relief as she dialed Helena’s number. "I just canceled on Chandra. Dana’s really sick, Helena. She looks like shit. I’m kinda worried."

"Well, why are you sitting in your car babbling at me when she’s sitting in there, sick and lonely? Go take care of your girlfriend, Alice," Helena admonished good-naturedly. "If Dana’s feeling better tomorrow you and I will go on a massive shopping spree, all right? That should make up for you skipping your break today. Now get in the house, you’ll do her no good sitting in your car all night." She hung up quickly, making Alice laugh as she called Shane to tell her what was going on.

"Yeah, I just got off the phone with Miss Dana. She said she’s an idiot and wanted to ask you to stay, but she felt bad. Don’t tell her you called it off, okay? It’ll just make her feel worse, although I’m glad you did it."

"Well, I would have felt like shit the whole night if I hadn’t, Shane."

"Yeah, I know. Now get in there." There was nothing left for Alice to do but obey.

The look on Dana’s face was a mixture of jubilation and shame for feeling that way. Alice just shook her head and smiled, walking over to Dana and kissing her passionately without a word spoken between them. She sat on the couch and pulled Dana into her arms, still kissing her.

When they finally broke apart a few minutes later, they were both breathless. "Did you cancel the date?" Dana asked.

"Yeah," Alice admitted. "I couldn’t leave you here all by yourself like this, you know."

"Al…you shouldn’t do stuff like that. I was serious when I said you need to get away from me, okay? You have to leave tomorrow and do something, okay?"

"Helena already promised to abduct me."

    1. That was incredible muted, I agree with the others, if only season 3 had gone this way *sighs* and I’m starting to love Dana so much more in this story so I will cry and throw something at you if you kill her off, I mean it biatch :P Can’t wait for your next post xx

    2. Muted, that was just incredible. I didn’t want it to end! And I’m so glad she didn’t go on the date with Chandra, that never sat well with me when I watched s3. Anyway, this story is so well written and I sound like a broken record, but you write these characters so fn well I’m just amazed by it.

    3. And as usual, I love the twist you gave this story as compared to the original storyline. This is how it should have been. I always hated the fact that we never got to know if Dana actually got jealous at Alice going on a date with Chandra. As a hardcore Danish fan I ofcourse always believed she was. ;) I wonder how you will continue with Dana’s sickbed and all… As you closely follow the storyline of S3, the next episode is the one where Dana dies. Whatever you will do, I at least know for sure that there will be much more ‘screentime’ in your story for Alice and (especialy) Dana than on the real show (I mean..how much screen time did Dana get in the episode where she died…I think 5 minutes is even overestimated).

    4. Um…I’m a little scared. This was so good and slayingly (is that a word?) sad. Oh and don’t disregard the yum-ness that is the oatmeal pancake – it’s not like zucchini pancakes. Now that’s a world of – Eww! Although I do have a fondness for the zucchini. Okay I’m having a major case of thoughtstipation tonight so I’ll end this babble with – Great Chapter!

    5. Awesome…This story is incredible…I really love the convo about thier relationship and I love how Dana asked Alice not to date anyone else…Love it Love it…Also I love how thier unconditional love jumps off the page…Your writing is incredible!!! Keep it up!

    6. That was soooo good I am wrapped up in this story (god I need to get out more!). I just love the way is sorta runs along with IC script but yours is much better……if you know what I mean? PPS :)
