LENOX HILL HOSPITAL-4
”yes honey, I always tell you that those who have hair like you have something special…” Tina said caressing her ”she has the blonde hair complex, she wants to always have it like mine” Tina whispered to Bette rolling her eyes.
Bette giggled ”typical” then turned to the little girl ”so what’s your name little princess?”
”Angelica”
”a beautiful name…my name is Bette and yes I’m a friend of Mommy…and you know…those who have curly hair are much better with building blocks” Bette made a funny voice and Angelica laughed immediately.
”I have building blocks…” said Angie showing Bette her backpack.
The brunette looked at the blonde ”my God Tina, she’s really special” Angie meanwhile was dumping the contents of her backpack on Bette’s bed.
”maybe you had other plans for your afternoon, but she will definitely want to play with you… I know you love children.. but you don’t have to Bette…”
”Tina this is the best surprise that could have been given to me…” Bette was really excited, she reached out a hand behind Tina’s back and the blonde was struck by the strength with which Bette held her, for the first time they were in a real hug.
Bette narrowed her eyes, it was so nice to still have the ability to feel someone, to hold them tight to you.
When they separated Tina’s face was red, even the upper part of her chest, she couldn’t look Bette in the eyes so she looked at Angelica’s constructions.
”I wonder if Bette can build a tower higher than ours huh?” Tina whispered to pretend Bette couldn’t hear her.
Angelica smiled at her and they started playing. That afternoon was unexpected, later Helena came too.
Angie and Bette were into each other, laughing, singing, funny faces, Bette really knew much more than Tina about children. She changed her voice, she made animal noises perfectly, she knew all the cartoons Angie loved and more than a few times Tina even felt like she was too much between them, she was so happy that Angie had that impact on Bette.
Tina closed her eyes for a moment and looked out the window, since she had Angelica, her friends played with her, even Monica, but no one had given her that feeling, no one had been for her and Angie a smell of family, of home.
Bette was for a moment the smell of home.
