Tracy Ryerson and Stamie Karakasidis – The Real L Word ladies were hilarious. Sometimes it’s hard to imagine two people that appear so different to be a couple but they work really well together, and with Stamie’s kids they do make a beautiful family.
During their Q&A’s they were constantly joking about themselves and their kids. Stamie has no filter and it’s obvious from her jokes or her tweets. Tracy joked that she follows Stamie on twitter just to know where she is and what she’s doing. They also said that twitter is a good tool to promote things or to “stalk” celebrities, like Chely Wright who they actually met through twitter.
When they were filming The Real L Word, there were six storylines and they all had their own producer, so none of the cast members were actually involved with other storylines. The reality series are pretty much all about drama, just as any other TV shows. Stamie and Tracy shared their producers with Nikki and Jill, the couple that were getting married. They had a nice storyline but how long anyone was going to watch them being happy and shopping for wedding dresses? So the producers tried to use some drama involving a friend but Nikki and Jill didn’t like it. By the way, they did get married and live in Malibu with two dogs.
There wasn’t enough time on a series to show everything they were doing all the time and Tracy couldn’t have cameras at her work due to a contract so they had to concentrate on their family. A lot of footage ended up on the cutting floor. Prior to filming, they didn’t know anyone from the cast, which was surprising because Tracy thought that the community was small and they would’ve known at least someone. Being on the show made them “celesbians” but apart from being recognized at some places their lives haven’t really changed much because their kids keep it real. The show made them grow closer because they spent a lot of time filming with the kids and became teammates.
