MIDSEASON

FOX midseason will launch two new dramas. On Mondays, House will move back to its usual slot at 8 pm (ET) and the 9 pm slot will be taken by J.J. Abrams (him again) thriller Alcatraz centered on America’s famous prison and mysterious return of its most notorious and infamous criminals. It stars Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia (from Lost), Sam Neill and Robert Forster.

The X Factor on Wednesday will be replaced by American Idol with the same show results shown on Thursday. Bones will be replaced by another new drama, and Bones spin-off, The Finder. The spin-off was introduced quite cleverly during Bones last season but according to the ratings, the episode wasn’t high on viewers and didn’t bring in a big spin-off following. It centers on a former Military Police officer and an Iraq war vet who can find anything by using his mind or something supernatural like that and stars Geoff Stults.

Sundays will see another new animated series Napoleon Dynamite, based on the original movie and featuring the voices of the original cast.
