    Talking, bad weather and going back to school

    ONE AND ONLY

    Chapter 88

    Bette got back to the apartment – she had run further than she had intended to – she had a lot to think about – like why was Tina so down on herself. Bette had always thought that she was the one who lacked self confidence – it was just a basic fact of their relationship – Tina was the self assured one and Bette wasn’t. So seeing this new side of Tina had puzzled Bette and she was searching to find some sort of explanation for why yesterday had happened. Bette still really didn’t understand why Tina had flipped the way that she had and how a simple game of tennis had turned into the huge dramatic event that it had. So she had run for a long time, stopping after 45 minutes or so to buy a cold drink and enjoy the sea and the sun. The run was very different from her usual run around Central Park.
    By the time she entered the apartment she had been out for two hours and she was determined to make things right with Tina. But first she would drag the blonde out of bed and have her wicked way with her in the shower – then they could have the biggest breakfast they could get the hotel to serve them – then they could talk. But Tina was missing – the bed was made and the room was empty with no clue about where Tina was. Bette put her hand in her pocket to look at her phone – she hadn’t brought it out with her – it was in a small drawer beside the bed. Bette retrieved it and looked at it. There was a message from Tina
    “Hey babe – hope you are enjoying your run. Emma just chewed me out big time. But instead of sulking I am going for a massage. Ring me when you are clean and I will buy us some breakfast – ILY  – T x “
    Bette smiled – well that was progress of sorts – it was less encouraging that Emma had chewed her out, Tina once described her mother with a hangover as like “ less welcoming that a wasp with an attitude problem”.  Bette put her phone back and headed towards the shower. A massage sounded like a great idea – but Bette wanted the person rubbing her aching muscles to be Tina – maybe she would pick up some tips.

While other writers have faded away due to thing or another, you’ve were a wonderful constant. Your stories were varied, interesting, dramatic and well thought out.
