…. I would
Bette sat at the window, eyes lazily following the path of the falling rain drops on the glass, twirling a pen nonchalantly between her thumb, index and middle fingers.
She shifted slightly, losing the precarious control she had on the writing implement which fell to the floor in a startling clatter. The unexpected noise broke the ambient monotony. Her eyes peeled away from the raindrop ballet and she stared unblinkingly at the fallen pen.
Sighing, she bent over and plucked the pen from the floor, pausing once she straightened back into her seated position to survey the marking on the silver lid. Her thumb caressed the engraving, feeling the dips and rise on the pen’s surface. “Together, forever”.
She grimaced as she felt the renewed tang of bitterness invade her, coursing through her veins as she recalled Tina’s words.
“Carrie asked me to marry her and I said yes.”
Blinking she wrenched her gaze away from the pen, turning her eyes back to the falling raindrops, following their path again. She wished to return to their hypnotic rhythm, hitting the asphalt, bursting on impact into a thousand smaller droplets, forming watery little craters which resembled blooming flowers.
She resumed twirling the pen again, with the nearly consummate ease of a majorette, idly, feeling its weight shift in her hand.
Standing suddenly, she drew her hand back before letting it swing forward, relinquishing her hold on the pen.
“Fuck!” she screamed as she hurled the pen with all her might at the opposite wall. For a split second, she watched with near satisfaction, the precise trajectory of the pen, swirling in slow motion through the air tip over end, tip over end, catching the reflection of a side lamp as it travelled through the air. The pen crashed into the wall, shattering; the lid coming undone on impact letting the ink burst forth akin to a small arterial spray and spraying the pristine white wall with a blue starry stain.
Bette closed her eyes, slightly out of breath from her sudden effort.
‘Fuck.’ She repeated in a murmur this time. She allowed herself to swear, knowing full well the house was empty. She had only recently relinquished her self-imposed ban on expletives. It had always been for Angie’s sake but lately she had found herself surprisingly ok with her own daughter’s liberal use of the ‘F’ word.

hahaha…. thanks for reading!
Hi Kins40,
So great to see you back!
First, I had to laugh with a tear of sorrow for Bette that the only word she could say was Fuck.
I thought it was a sad story, I could really feel the pain Bette felt. The realization that she now really lost Tina.
But how she then picked up herself again and decided to fight for Tina and let Tina know what she feels for her and what Tina means to her.
It was a beautiful letter! A letter that I hope Tina will consider whether her own future and whether that other woman is worth it and not an excuse.
I cannot understand that Tina left and divorced Bette to find herself and soon find someone else and get married so quickly. This whole story that was created by the producers and writers is simply unbelievable in my eyes.
I hope you write a sequel in which you tell Tina’s feelings and her reaction to Bette’s letter.
And it would make me very happy if there were a happy ending for my favorite couple Bette & Tina!
Thank you so much for this still heartbreaking story!
this series has raised so many questions of why and how ..etc… I’m sure the writers will see the effect that 20 minutes or so of shared screen with JB and LH has done to raise the profile of this new show. We can only but hope…
I’m happy because one of my favorite writer return and sad because i don’t see words TBC at the end of this story.
never say never!!!!
Kins! You’re back, too! Wonderful :-)
Thanks for your additional scences to episode 7. Beautiful poem.
Are you going to write Tina’s reaction to the letter? Will you have her write back?
Well done. Now, please send to Showtime and JB, k? Thanks…
Oh Kins, you are a true poet.
Thanks for the shout-out.
I wish for more and more of this beautiful writing. There is no way to set up notifications? I need to be on the watch for the new chapters.
Always a great pleasure and a joy to see you have posted a story
I loved it and the lovely words of your letter/poem even.
I hope Tina feels the love coming from those words and comes back to Bette to try again and that she hasn’t had enough of Bettes Shit as she once put it
I await Tina’s reply as I’m sure she will. How could she not after reading that letter
TBC ………..?
Oh my god what a coincidence, I was just reading your stories and I thought that maybe you’ll come back and here you are !! I’m not going to comment this fic though (sorry about that). I was just beginning to watch the show when this damn epi aired so I’m probably done with it BUT I hope you’ll write Tibette stories soon …
Please what is Tina’s reply to this poetic love letter?
