    …. I would

She picked up her phone from the kitchen counter, scrolling through her contact to find Tina’s number.

The picture was still the same, the same beautiful hazel eyes looking directly at the camera. The picture had been taken at a simpler time, a happier time.

Bette hit the green phone shape on the screen of her smart phone listening for the ring tone which would connect her to the love of her life. She was going to tell her, warn her of her impending mistake, make her realise…. This time it would be real, it had always been real.

The ring tone carried on counting with rhythmic monotony to the single most momentous time in her life until finally the tell-tale click of someone answering was heard.

‘Hi, you’ve reached Tina, I’m unable to take your call at present but leave a message and I’ll get back to you.’

‘Fuck!’  Bette muttered once more hanging up quickly, her remarkable inability at uttering anything else but this word was surprising even her. She was so much more voluble, articulate, elegant than that.

The idea suddenly hit her like a freight train.

    Words.

She would show Tina with words.

    A Letter.

Awash with a renewed sense of purpose, Bette ran out of the kitchen to her desk. Unable to locate her favourite pen she suddenly realised that its shattered remains still littered the floor in her living room.

Wincing at her own lack of self-control, she managed to find another pen after rummaging through the stack of papers from her campaign which had overtaken every inch of space in her study including her desktop.

With one swipe of her hand, she cleared it, untroubled by the physical chaos she was creating.

She sat down sliding a blank piece of paper in front of her and immediately began to write.

    *****

It was two hours later that Bette returned home. She has posted the letter and the words still danced in her head.

She walked through her living room, night had fallen, and the only light came from that one side lamp which had remained on all day. As she stepped into the room, her foot hit an object as she headed towards her mini bar.

Looking at her feet she realised that the smashed pen was still lying on the floor and that right now she was more than likely trailing ink all over the floor.

    1. Hi Kins40,

So great to see you back!

First, I had to laugh with a tear of sorrow for Bette that the only word she could say was Fuck.

I thought it was a sad story, I could really feel the pain Bette felt. The realization that she now really lost Tina.

But how she then picked up herself again and decided to fight for Tina and let Tina know what she feels for her and what Tina means to her.

It was a beautiful letter! A letter that I hope Tina will consider whether her own future and whether that other woman is worth it and not an excuse.

I cannot understand that Tina left and divorced Bette to find herself and soon find someone else and get married so quickly. This whole story that was created by the producers and writers is simply unbelievable in my eyes.

I hope you write a sequel in which you tell Tina’s feelings and her reaction to Bette’s letter.

And it would make me very happy if there were a happy ending for my favorite couple Bette & Tina!

Thank you so much for this still heartbreaking story!

      • this series has raised so many questions of why and how ..etc… I’m sure the writers will see the effect that 20 minutes or so of shared screen with JB and LH has done to raise the profile of this new show. We can only but hope…

    2. Kins! You’re back, too! Wonderful :-)
Thanks for your additional scences to episode 7. Beautiful poem.

Are you going to write Tina’s reaction to the letter? Will you have her write back?

    3. Always a great pleasure and a joy to see you have posted a story

I loved it and the lovely words of your letter/poem even.

I hope Tina feels the love coming from those words and comes back to Bette to try again and that she hasn’t had enough of Bettes Shit as she once put it

I await Tina’s reply as I’m sure she will. How could she not after reading that letter

      TBC ………..?

    4. Oh my god what a coincidence, I was just reading your stories and I thought that maybe you’ll come back and here you are !! I’m not going to comment this fic though (sorry about that).
