Turn About Is Fair Play – CH67 (repost)
At Frenchys
Tina and Nya talked over coffee and muffins. Neither had an appetite for dinner and it was a little too late for a full meal anyway. They made small talk at first to reacquaint themselves with each other and loosen any tension they may have felt on the ride. Nya talked about her family, the death of her mother and later her father, and about her younger sister. Tina talked about her life before Bette, her family, her desire for a child, and touched lightly on the events of her separation. She didnt want to rehash completely because they had spoke about it when they first met. They continued talking until they began talking about and plans for the future.
So, if things between you and Bette dont work out, then what?
Tina looked at Nya with a blank stare not really knowing what to say. Nya seemed to ask questions that she hadnt thought about.
Im not sure really, Tina admitted. I cant say Ive even given it much thought.
Nya played with the napkin in between looking at Tina. Im sorry, I shouldnt pry, Nya retreated. I didnt mean to make you uncomfortable.
Its okay. Its not your fault, Tina instinctively reached for Nyas hand, Its a good question, just not one I give real thought to, Tina shamefully admitted.
What do your friends think of the situation? Nya partially changed the subject.
Everyone pretty much took a back seat to it all. They took my side for the most part, but remained out of the loop. Alice has been involved the most because I went to her after I found out, Tina intentionally stopped herself from talking too much.
Nya was nodding her head acknowledging what Tina said. She could see the pain in Tinas eyes and chose not to press the issue much further.
Tina, I have one last question and Ill let it go.
Whats that?
When you slept with Bette, did you do it for a control factor? Tina looked perplexed. I mean, to have control over her and the situation or was it because the feelings are still there? Nyas question penetrated like a double-edged sword and Tina was bleeding fast.
