    Oh Frankie.

“Look Frankie we’ve been together for 10 years now, I’m 27 and you’re 25 why don’t you want to move in with me yet, you said you would last year but you’re still dragging your feet about it,”  Cat was ready to make a full commitment to Frankie to care for her and look after her, she had never had anyone to look out for her in her life.

“I will Cat I just need a bit more time.” Frankie could feel the panic welling up in her but kept it inside, “I have to go I’ve got a job tomorrow in Stirling,” Frankie stood up.

“Stay, I want you to stay, I love you Frankie,” Cat took her hand.

“Not tonight Cat, I love you too but I need to get my stuff ready for tomorrow,” Frankie was distracted and Cat sensed something was not right, she put it down to uncle telling her he never to visit their home again once she had told them about her real relationship with Cat.

Frankie kissed Cat on the forehead and left without even a glance back, Cat went inside and worried all night that Frankie was ok.  Tess, Cat’s flat mate, ”Frankie was edgy tonight wasn’t she, when you were in the shower I was talking to her but she was distracted, and when I asked her about Saturday she said, ‘oh yeah maybe ok,’ and that was it?”

“Don’t ask me Tess she’s been like this since I asked her about moving in and getting a CP now they are legal, she was very evasive about it, I think she’s gone off me Tess,” Cat was looking worried and upset.

“Never, she’s always loved you and always will you’ll always be together.”

Cat rang Frankie but her phone went to voicemail again and again, she went to her bedsit to find the land lady clearing it out, “Where’s Frankie?”

“She rang me yesterday gave me a months rent in lieu and said she was leaving to move elsewhere, I came round for the keys she’d left them with Ahmed in the sit opposite and has packed just her clothes, took none of her books or her clutter, here look see only her clothes gone.” Cat looked around the room, everything was still there, even the CD’s Cat had bought her.
