“Not Guilty.” So much for being honest. Chris had hardly dressed up for this event at all. He was wearing baggy jeans and a belt. His shirt was a white button up and he wore a black tie around his neck. All three girls wanted to strangle him by it.

A few more basic procedures and Chris was called to the stand. He sat in the chair and slouched a bit as a court attorney asked him a few questions. “Tell me what happened, in your own words.”

Chris cleared his throat as he began to speak. “Well, Amanda and I were dating a while ago. She was in love with me. She even moved away from home just to live with me. One night she was mad at me. Something about me not being enough for her. I gave her my sincerest apology and she accepted it. We both had intercourse and when we were done, she got dressed and said that she was going to report it as rape.”

The judge was taking detailed notes onto his legal pad. Funny thing actually, a legal pad for a legal document in a legal setting. Either that or he was drawing a heart with his name and the name of his wife inside.

The girls were shocked. He was up there after swearing to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Instead, he lied.

Now it was Amanda’s turn to explain what had happened. Neither Ashley, nor Spencer, had heard this story. They never wanted to make Amanda uncomfortable by asking her to explain it. So this was the first time anyone had heard the story. “I was living with Chris because I thought I was in love. I was willing to let my parents kick me out just to stay with him. Well, I came home one night and he kept trying to kiss me and I kept pushing him away. I had a very rough day earlier in the day and I wasn’t in the mood. He then forced me onto his bed and I kept trying to push him away but he kept going. I said no so many times and he didn’t care. He just kept going and going. I couldn’t make him stop. He wouldn’t stop.” Amanda was now in tears as the officer brought a bow of Kleenex to her side. She took one and the Attorney approached her.
