    A Different L: Episode 7 Part 5

Victoria: On my way to base now. I’ll be sure to give Lane a call. Would you like me to say hi to her for you?

    Maria pauses.

    Maria: …No.

Victoria: Suit yourself, Secretary. Remember, you’re in charge now.

Their names are Leslie Willis and Siobhan Smythe, but they are known to the public as Livewire and Silver Banshee, respectively. It did not take long for Livewire to set Siobhan up with the ideal clothing and makeup to better suit the Silver Banshee persona, just as before. They walk side by side and dare anyone to cross them.

Livewire: It’s been too long since I’ve been able to do some work on your face.

Silver Banshee: Some big guy with an ice gun breaks us out, disappears with some woman and all you can think about is comestic stuff.

Livewire: Hey, we’re supervillains. We gotta look the part.

They suddenly hear a weird sonic screaming noise from behind that knocks them down. They scramble to get back to their feet and see the woman responsible for the noise.

Black Canary: You may have escaped, but your freedom’s not lasting long!

Livewire gets to her feet as Silver Banshee assumes a crouched position.

Livewire: Oh hey it’s little birdie with the mask. Where’s the one without the mask? She looks a lot better.

Black Canary: Don’t come any closer.

Livewire stands with her arms crossed.

Livewire: That little trick with the noise was cute.

    She looks to her friend.

Livewire: But my girl does it a lot better.

Black Canary realizes what that means and charges in. Livewire smiles, standing back a couple of paces behind Silver Banshee, who roars out her own scream. Before Black Canary can unsheath one of her weapons, she is forced back by the enchanted and cursed scream of the Silver Banshee. Black Canary flies backwards involuntarily, crashing against a dumpster.

They watch her shake her head, trying to get back to her feet.

Livewire: She’s tough. My turn to do something cool.

She levitates above the ground in the alleyway, charging with pure electricity and sending a charge out of her right arm to Black Canary’s chest, just as she is getting to a standing position. The shock sends her violently crashing against the dumpster again, this time knocking her out. Livewire drops back down on her feet and walks with Silver Banshee towards the unconscious Black Canary.

Silver Banshee: What do you think we should do with her?

Livewire: What we wanted to with the other prisoners, but couldn’t. Whatever we want.

Black Canary is being approached. She is helpless to stop them. She is bleeding from right nostril, her mouth, and both ears. Los Angeles is a city full of heroes and Laurel Lance, the woman behind the Black Canary mask could use some herself.
