    511 and a Half

”You would not believe the day I had,” Tina declared as she gingerly stroked Angie’s back.

”I bet I could give you a run for your money,” Bette replied.

”Oh, no, no, no, I could give you both a run for your money,” Kit said.

”I promise you that Dawn Denbo and her lover Cindy are not gonna get their hands on The Planet,” Said Bette while Tina held onto Angelica’s hand.

”You know, that’s not important. You know, what’s important is this beautiful baby girl and her wonderful mommies,” Kit said as she took Angie’s hand and gave it a light squeeze before rubbing both Bette and Tina’s arms. Bette nuzzled her daughter’s cheek with a smile.

”You’re sweet,” Bette replied. ”Can you say thank you to Auntie Kit? You wanna go home?” she asked Angie who nodded. Tearing attention away from her daughter and settling her questioning eyes on her ex, Bette stalled, too shy to just come right out and invite Tina over in front of her sister. Tina’s eyes pleaded with Bette not to leave just yet. Bette slowly turned towards the door. ”You ready to go home, baby?” she asked Angie again, waiting to see if Tina would stop them.

    ”Go home,” Angie replied.

Bette turned to face Tina again, finally deciding to put it out there…sort of. ”Do you want to…?” she asked hoping Tina would correctly infer what she meant.

Tina briefly looked away as if deciding, then looked back up at Bette and sighed in relief. She was anxious to know what happened with Jodi and whether or not they would decide to move forward with their own relationship if Bette had effectively broken up with her. ”Uh, yeah,” she responded with a nod and a wink.

The three of them then headed for the door.

”Thank you, Kit.” Bette turned to her sister.

    ”Yeah, thanks, Kit,” Tina said.

Kit could only nod her head, her mind still reeling from what could have been a fatal end to everyone’s day after seeing Angie play with the revolver she had planned to use at Shebar just hours before.

The small family made their way through the Planet parking lot in relative silence. Bette deactivated her car alarm and opened the back door of her SUV.

    1. What a wonderful take on that hot mess called Jodi Lerner and Bette Porter. I thought I was the only one that couldn’t stand that IC contrived character called Jodi Lerner. No way, IMO, that Bette would hookup w/Jodi, b/c Jodi wasn’t physically Bette’s type. Too frumpy and matronly. Marlee lost a bunch of weight and toned up on DWTS and seemed more of Bette’s type then. Sorry to be so shallow but it is Hollywood fiction. ;-)

      • Hi AZ!! So good to see you again! I tend to agree with you that the Jodi-Bette ‘ship was awkward, but probably for different reasons. The physical didn’t bother me as much as the personality clash. They didn’t start off on the right foot in the very beginning so it was doomed to end bad. Remember Helena’s old adage, what begins in chaos, ends in chaos. It’s like Bette smoked a little pot and was still high throughout their relationship. All bad. Thanks for reading and coming out to comment! Hugs!!

      • Great job, enjoyed it very much. And, by all means, please give us more of this vignette and any others you think we readers would enjoy. Thanks much for posting.

        • Thank you, Dainty! Nice to see you comment again! As far as this story goes, I could absolutely write a different one but I’m not sure i could actually continue it. There are a couple other scenes I think I’d like to tackle and develop. Stand by!

      • Thank you, cellphone! I’ve got a few irons in the fire as far as ideas go. It’s just a matter of finding time to sit and bang ’em out. I will do my best!

    2. Loved the way you filled a gap
      the series left open.
That’s why I always say, I’m glad that writers like
you fix what the series left to be desired.
      Continue to fill these gaps.
      I await new chapter.
      10 Stars.
