    511 and a Half

”Here, I’ll strap Angelica in her seat while you get the car started,” Tina offered grabbing her daughter. Bette gave her a puzzled look. ”Otherwise, I’ll beat you to your house and I don’t have a key.” Tina said with a chuckle, trying to keep the mood light.

”Okay,” Bette said with a small smile. She walked around and got into her car while Tina made sure Angie was properly secured in her car seat.

”I’ll see you in just a few minutes at Mama B’s house, okay, pookie?” Tina asked her little girl, giving her a quick kiss on the forehead..

    ”Kay,” Angelica replied.

”Alright. See you in a few,” She said softly to Bette.

    ”Kay,” Bette replied.

    Bette’s House

Bette unlocked the front door with Angie on her hip and led Tina inside. She tossed all of her stuff on the chair she had been sitting on when Jodi straddled her and started aggressively kissing her. Bette suppressed her gag reflex at the memory and set Angelica down on her own two feet.

”Why don’t you go play in your room for a little bit, baby girl,” Bette suggested as Tina closed the door and locked it behind them. They stood in the entryway just staring at each other as Angie ran off. ”She’s probably hungry,” Bette surmised.

”Yeah, probably. I didn’t even think to ask Kit if she had fed her.”

”Neither did I,” Bette replied. ”Are you hungry?”

    ”Starving.”

”Yeah, me too. Do you mind just watching Angie for me while I take a quick shower?” Bette asked.

Tina quirked a brow, curious as to why Bette would want to shower now. ”Um, okay.” But as the blonde went to sit down on the couch, a sudden thought stopped her cold in her tracks. ”Did you sleep with her today?” Her tone already accusatory and her face grimaced.

”What?” Bette asked, caught off guard.

”Did you sleep with Jodi today?” Tina asked, her tone slightly softening as she realized that she still had no claim to Bette or reason to be upset.

Bette put her head down for a brief second and drew in a deep breath before walking over to where Tina was standing. She reached out for Tina’s hand and laced their fingers. ”No,” she said, her voice just above a whisper.

    1. What a wonderful take on that hot mess called Jodi Lerner and Bette Porter. I thought I was the only one that couldn’t stand that IC contrived character called Jodi Lerner. No way, IMO, that Bette would hookup w/Jodi, b/c Jodi wasn’t physically Bette’s type. Too frumpy and matronly. Marlee lost a bunch of weight and toned up on DWTS and seemed more of Bette’s type then. Sorry to be so shallow but it is Hollywood fiction. ;-)

      • Hi AZ!! So good to see you again! I tend to agree with you that the Jodi-Bette ‘ship was awkward, but probably for different reasons. The physical didn’t bother me as much as the personality clash. They didn’t start off on the right foot in the very beginning so it was doomed to end bad. Remember Helena’s old adage, what begins in chaos, ends in chaos. It’s like Bette smoked a little pot and was still high throughout their relationship. All bad. Thanks for reading and coming out to comment! Hugs!!

      • Great job, enjoyed it very much. And, by all means, please give us more of this vignette and any others you think we readers would enjoy. Thanks much for posting.

        • Thank you, Dainty! Nice to see you comment again! As far as this story goes, I could absolutely write a different one but I’m not sure i could actually continue it. There are a couple other scenes I think I’d like to tackle and develop. Stand by!

      • Thank you, cellphone! I’ve got a few irons in the fire as far as ideas go. It’s just a matter of finding time to sit and bang ’em out. I will do my best!

    2. Loved the way you filled a gap
      the series left open.
That’s why I always say, I’m glad that writers like
you fix what the series left to be desired.
      Continue to fill these gaps.
      I await new chapter.
      10 Stars.
