    ”Oh, thank God,” Tina sighed in relief. ”But I’m not going to lie to you Tina, she tried,” Bette looked into Tina’s hazel eyes with nothing but shame. ”And we kissed. A lot. And I know you think kissing is cheating, so I told her that I didn’t want to do this with her. That

    ”Oh, thank God,” Tina sighed in relief.

    ”But I’m not going to lie to you Tina, she tried,” Bette looked into Tina’s hazel eyes with nothing but shame. ”And we kissed. A lot. And I know you think kissing is cheating, so I told her that I didn’t want to do this with her. That it didn’t feel right.”

    ”And how did that go over?”

    ”Not very well.”

    ”Bette. Can you please just tell me if you’re still with her?”

    Bette guided Tina to sit on the couch. She sat down beside her and took both Tina’s hands in hers. ”No. We’re not together anymore. I brought her back here to pick up the rest of her things after we left campus. It’s over, T.”

    Tina felt her tension melt away as she pulled Bette towards her in a bone-crushing hug.

    ”I love you, Tina.” Bette’s voice cracked with emotion as she held onto the love of her life.

    ”I love you, too, Bette.” Tina turned her face towards Bette’s to seek refuge in Bette’s kiss.

    ”Baby?” Bette began, reluctantly pulling away from Tina.

    ”What?” Tina whispered.

    ”I really want to wash up. I’m sorry.”

    ”It’s okay,” Tina pulled back to smile up at Bette. ”You must feel really dirty in a bad way,” Tina joked.

    ”I just want to be fresh for you, that’s all. Plus, I’m PMSing.” Bette admitted with a smirk.

    ”I guess that Dawn Denbo was right, we did sync up on the Pink Ride.” Replied Tina, both of them snickering.

    ”Yeah, I guess. Fucking bitch.” Bette retorted.

    ”Want me to make something for dinner while you shower?”

    ”That sounds good. I’ve got some leftovers we can probably heat up for all of us.”

    ”Perfect. Then you go relax and I’ll get everything ready.”

    Bette smiled and leaned in to peck a kiss on Tina’s lips. ”I’ll be back,” she promised as she tucked a strand of hair behind Tina’s ear.

    When Bette emerged from her bedroom wearing a purple tank top and black yoga pants, she saw Angie sitting in her booster chair at the table while Tina was serving her a helping of homemade mac and cheese. Bette couldn’t help but smile wistfully at her family having dinner together; a scene that she thought she would only ever see in her dreams again.

    3. What a wonderful take on that hot mess called Jodi Lerner and Bette Porter. I thought I was the only one that couldn’t stand that IC contrived character called Jodi Lerner. No way, IMO, that Bette would hookup w/Jodi, b/c Jodi wasn’t physically Bette’s type. Too frumpy and matronly. Marlee lost a bunch of weight and toned up on DWTS and seemed more of Bette’s type then. Sorry to be so shallow but it is Hollywood fiction. ;-)

      • Hi AZ!! So good to see you again! I tend to agree with you that the Jodi-Bette ‘ship was awkward, but probably for different reasons. The physical didn’t bother me as much as the personality clash. They didn’t start off on the right foot in the very beginning so it was doomed to end bad. Remember Helena’s old adage, what begins in chaos, ends in chaos. It’s like Bette smoked a little pot and was still high throughout their relationship. All bad.         • Thank you, Dainty! Nice to see you comment again! As far as this story goes, I could absolutely write a different one but I’m not sure i could actually continue it. There are a couple other scenes I think I’d like to tackle and develop. Stand by!
