    He takes a sip of wine.

    David – Mmm … magnificent vintage!

    Bette – I knew you would like it!

    She reads the paper.

    Bette – Both Italian?

    David – Uh-huh! Paolo Gallo is the sculptor and studied in Florence and Gia Bianchi is the painter and is still an art student in Rome. They are both fabulous!

    Bette – Would they be interested in showing their work in the US?

    David – They know that the US market is second to none and Gia had already heard about you.

    Bette – That’s good!

    David – She asked me if you were the beautiful lesbian who owns an LA art gallery.

    The brunette raises an eyebrow.

    David – And of course I said: who else?!

    He chuckles.

    Bette – How does she know me?

    David – Well … it seems that her girlfriend, a model in Milan, has dated you.

    Bette – Ah …

    She smirks.

    Bette – I went to Milan two years ago … And I bet her girlfriend’s name is Giuliana.

    David – There you go!

    They laugh.

    Bette – Thank you, David! I’ll contact them.

    She takes a sip of her wine.

    David – I asked them to send you a portfolio of their best work as soon as they can.

    Bette – Good! I went to Spain some three months ago to meet that amazing photographer that I told you about …

    David – Maya Costa?

    Bette – Yes! And I was not planning on returning to Europe this year.

    She smiles.

    Bette – What would I do without friends like you giving me all these tips?!

    David – Anything for you, my dear! But your fame precedes you …

    She shakes her head, with a smirk.

    Bette – I’m not looking for that kind of fame, David!

    The waiter brings their food and David’s eyes light up.  

    David – Wonderful!

    The young man serves them and leaves, and they begin to eat.

    David – By the way, I already called Eric and invited him and his girlfriend to the party.

    Her eyes brighten.  

    Bette – Oh …

    He takes a bite of his Kobe beef steak.

    2. I like this story. Tina is beginning to see her dissatisfaction with Eric. And Meg? She wants Tina to marry someone to be friends with her husband so she can have time to talk to her BFF? That’s a bit selfish isn’t it? Hopefully Meg is a better friend than that. Well can’t wait to see how this acquaintance between Bette and Tina goes.

      So glad you’re picking up this story again! I definitely remember it and can recall what happens at the party but I can’t remember if the entire story was finished or not. Anyways, can’t wait for the next posts!!

      Wonderful story, and a very nice chapter.

      I see how hard Tina is fighting her homosexuality and attraction for Bette, that happens many, many times, and can go good for open-mind people who decide to live their lives and be honest with themselves without hiding from the rest of the world, and it can go bad for the ones who decide to live a double life or even worst to fight the ones that had the strength of coming-out.

      Anyway, Tina is in a ‘spiral collision course’ with her destiny, the future love of her life.

      Nice move Bette, so smart to invite Eric and Tina, Bette is cornering the blonde, and let’s see or rather, read what you will write in your next chapter.
