Hmm, Jay has certainly introduced a different charge to the usual vibe of this town. No wonder I got all those voicemails while I was out of town with Jordan; she’s the most exciting thing that’s happened here in a long, long time. Funny how she makes me feel more sexy just by staring at me. And what is this exciting sluice of electricity between us? I’ve never felt something like it with another woman before.

I wonder how she’d feel about me pitching in with the work going around here today?

Left alone with her thoughts, Lena decided to call her office and changed her voice mail to redirect calls to her cell. Next, she called Hannah, her all-around assistant and para-legal. “I’m sticking around here, Hannah, while Jordie and her friends clean and prep the new café for its opening in a couple of days. The owner, the one who hired Jordie and the girls, turns out to be really, nice, charming. I totally respect how committed she is to her project. Can you call my list of go-tos for eggs, fruits, ham, cheese, please? I also need you to call your mom – she’s going to need to bake a dozen apple pies for the opening of the café. Tell her I’ll pay for this batch. When you get a hold of them, can you ask them to call me by today? I’ll work on Mrs. Palmer’s estate plan documents from here. Any other business, just call me here.”

“You sound excited, Lena,” Hanna observed as she jotted down all of Lena’s directions. “You meet someone while you were away?”

“Yeah, I did, or I think I did,” Lena answered absentmindedly, as she set rifled through the papers in her briefcase. “Not while I was away, though. I’m still figuring out what’s happened.”

“Ooohhh, I’m so excited for you! I mean, it’s been sooo long, since…” Hannah squealed into the phone.

Lena held her handset away from her ear, smiling at the thought of Hannah jumping around right now, probable. “No need to remind me, Hannah. Anyway, can you start on those calls? First one to your mom, ok?”

She paused as she saw Bette turn corner, gliding across the floor, throwing her a quick smile first before heading towards the girls.

Ooohhh, baby! It’s not just Jordie’s mom who’s got it goin on!

“Gotto go, Hannah!  There’s stuff going on here that I don’t wanna miss!”

    1. Skydancer, thank you for the update.

I was certain you would bring Tina in the café to meet Bette. But maybe it is Tina and she had to change her name too and needed to hide.

Lena or Tina doesn’t matter at the, moment, Bette can use some tender loving to reliesh her stress.

      • Nice chapter, skydancer. In some email exchanges with @Jacky, she’s passed on to me that she doesn’t expect, nor want writers to self-censor. Just write what you want and let the chips fall where they may. Gotta love that woman. I would just avoid keywords that would be caught by any sniffer. I’m sure you have an idea of what words might attract attention. Other than that, I say bring on the TLC!

    2. Really like this so far. If not mistaken, in the first chapter, I believe that I read that a film crew would be in the area very soon. So if you didn’t change Tinas’ occupation, then that is when she will show up. Right? Must go back and read that first chapter for some clarification of all this. Thanks for sharing. Can hardly wait for Tina to appear.

      • Hi @Jane, I was referring to warning or instructions you see when you start to post a new chapter or story. The warning is new, and informs you that Google is screening for mature content in the text, not just in pics that are posted. Since the site relies on Google providing a platform for it (I think), I took it seriously. I also took it to mean Google is screening other posted chapters (and I’ve posted a bunch of chapters with sexy scenes, so ….). But @Jacky is saying not to worry, so, I guess that means I can (?) does that clear it up for you?

    3. Hmmm, very, very interesting. Our favorite girls having to survive in a Red State, living underground, and communicating thru code! Sort of like life right now! Again. Please keep writing so I can relive this
