Anatomy of a Breakdown Chap 7
“I was so heart broken… then you came home…”
“And I was an asshole again.” Tina smiles trying to ease the tension.
“I just thought if this is how she’s going to be then I’m really going to have to do this on my own.” The realization hits Bette like a ton of bricks.
“I’m so sorry Tina. I’m sorry that I am so selfish.”
“I just felt trapped. I felt like we created this life and I couldn’t escape because I had no job and no home of my own to run to.”
“You wanted to run?”
“A little. I just felt like I didn’t have much of a choice.”
“You wanted to leave.” She says aloud. Shock sweeps over her, ‘how had they gotten to that point?’
“Bette I love you. I loved you with every fiber of my being. I just… It wasn’t working. Therapy wasn’t helping. I didn’t know what else to do.”
“God Tina. How could I have been so blind?”
“I didn’t really give you any indication Bette.”
“When did you really start to think about it?”
“After we had dinner with Melvin. I left and you didn’t…” Her voice begins to crack with the memory.
“I didn’t come after you?” Tina nods her head afraid of Bette’s reaction.
“I thought how could this possibly work? How could we be a partnership, a family if you couldn’t take a stand with me.”
“Jesus…” Bette sighs unable to respond to Tina’s honesty.
“This is a lot Bette I know but I need you to know all of this if we have any hope of ever making it work again.”
“I know I just… I just never thought it was this bad.”
“I stayed Bette. As much as I wanted to go I stayed because I knew I’d never find someone who I’d love and would love me the way you did.”
“Tina how fucked up is that? How fucked up is it that you could still believe in love after how I behaved?”
“Bette love is a strange thing. Deep down at my core I knew that our love no matter how difficult it was at the time would find its way back.”

glad they r talking… and ii agree… that night when tina left bette and melvin at dinner… bette should of got up and left too… great chapter… PPS
Sweet stuff. Thank you, Md
Hey denEmat, I’m really enjoying your tale. Delayed honesty is soooo much harder than telling the truth in the moment….the delay gives us too much time to speculate and imagine all kinds of responses, outcomes and it even alters reality somewhat. And the results are often as immediately painfully as ultimately rewarding. Its good that our girls are getting honest with each other. Thanks for writing. PPS.
So glad their really talking, and such a sweet ending to the perfect day. PPS:)
so nice that they actually were honest and spoke to each other! I hope things keep looking up for them! Can’t wait for the next chapter! PPS
What a way to end a beautiful party with friends and family. Poor Bette, falling asleep when all she wants to do is spend time with Tina. Maybe they should not stay in the same bed but darn it, I think that it is a great idea.
That was a very nice read, thank you.
It’s so good they are talking and reaching an understanding. Maybe there is hope for them getting back together.

I’m glad they both are talking! Holding each other is just what they need!! :)
