    Keeping the party going.

    Kit: Teary eyed. First of all how could you even think of telling me this out there in the restaurant I can hardly keep it together? I’m so happy for you and for me. I love my niece and will love this baby too. I’m not sure how little miss will do with sharing, but still let her know she’s special.

    Bette: Well she’s certainly bossy enough to be a big sister.

    Kit: So what are you trying to say? Gives Bette their signature raised eyebrow look.

    Bette: Oh well you’re not too bossy Kit. Both sisters laugh.

    Kit: Well if I am it’s my right as the big sister so there.

    Bette: Well as you can imagine we aren’t telling the girls until it’s a done deal OK.

    Kit: No problem here, but I am so excited for you two. You are very good parents and any child will be lucky to have you both.

    Bette: Thanks Kit, but they’ll be lucky to have you as well as the world’s greatest aunt.

    Kit: Well what can I say I am rather fabulous!  The sisters break out into a fit of warm laughter before embracing as Bette takes off.

    California University about 2pm

    Bette: Bette Porter.

    Tina: Hey baby how’s your day going?

    Bette: Great. They had a little reception for me over lunch and the award has a prominent place in a new display case here at the Art College. It was great to include the students and faculty in the celebration. It’s as much their accomplishment as mine. I’ve even been able to make some progress on the things that have piled up. James did a great job of delegating or handling while I was gone.

    Tina: That’s great baby. My day hasn’t been quite as smooth.

    Bette: I’m sorry to hear that. It will be no problem for me to grab Boo. We can shoot hoops before you get home. How late do you think you’ll be?

    Tina: Oh baby I think I could be here until 7 or so. I’m sorry.

    Bette: No, I’m sorry if you hadn’t come to surprise and support me in DC things wouldn’t have backed up on you.

    Tina: It was my place to be there to support you and ogle you in the dress. Besides what did you say in your speech about our family coming first?

    1. Loved this story, lwsho. They are a great family together especially when Bette can relax and let the love happen. Having another child will be wonderful for them and it will also help Angie, although she is almost too grown now, with her take charge personality. It is not necessarily in the genes, it is also the environment that shapes up into the people we become. If hr mother’s are anything to judge by she will be quite a young lady, beautiful, smart, loving and one hell of an alpha. Won’t she. This is fun and I enjoy it, although for some reason I smell trouble in the air. Tell me I’m wrong. If not, plese don’t let it be too serious. Happy New Year. Post when you can.

    2. lwshow2005, I LOVE ANGIE!!! I had some time after dinner to settle myself in front of the fire as it snows at the moment, and read this very generous post. I enjoy reading good fics that have Angie in them. They are usually written with such fun, love, and a lightness which can be very easy to indulge in. Can’t wait for baby #2!!!!!! :- )))) Happy New Year and can’t wait for the next chappy. Oh and btw, good selection for a movie.

    9. lwsho2005. i have been reading this story from the beginning, and i love it. Angie is DO flippin cute I can’t stand it! I wonder how she’ll react to not being the only child … hmmm. looking forward to the next chappy! Happy new year

    12. Dimples, thanks for reading and replying. I’ve been bumped off course and not sure if I’ll resume writing this one. At some point I may wrap it up with another chapter, but my author days may be over; kind of in a Fan Fic funk at the moment.
