    Keeping the party going.

    Bette: Oh come on you not coming to DC isn’t a reflection of not supporting me or putting our family first. I love that you were there and loved the surprise of it all, but it wasn’t a requirement. I love you just the same.

    Tina: Well, I required myself to be there so there. I will see you at home tonight. I love you.

    Bette: I love you too.

    Bette immediately calls Tina’s assistant Julie to confirm that she and Angelica will drop off dinner shortly after 5pm. Julie confirms that she’ll make arrangements with security and will ignore any direction from Tina to order dinner.

    5:30pm Shaloin executive offices. There is a knock at Tina’s door.

    Tina: Come in.

    Angelica: Hi Mommy we brought you dinner!

    Tina: Oh thank you baby come give me a hug. How was school?

    Angelica: It was fun.

    Bette: Hey baby we aren’t going to stay but wanted you to have some fresh Thai food for dinner. We’ll eat at home. We have a basketball play date and I think Shane and Alice will join us. So take your time and do what you need here OK.

    Tina: Oh that just makes me want to come home sooner. Thanks for bringing me dinner though. I am hungry.

    Angelica: Now swinging around in Tina’s executive chair while her mothers are huddled on the couch. Can we go now? I really want to play.

    Tina: Yea you two head home. I’ll get some more work done and I’ll see you later OK? Come give me a kiss baby. Angelica scampers over and obliges her mother. Bette gets a quick kiss and leaves Tina to her Thai and her work.

    At the Porter Kennard house Angelica, Bette and Shane are shooting hoops when Alice pulls up in her Chuck Taylor’s and bandana ready for action.

    Alice: OK now watch out I’m got my game face on today.

    Angelica: Aunt Alice you are so silly. Come play with us everyone gets two free throws and it’s my turn first. Angelica sinks both her shots and gets high fives from the crowd. Bette does the same. Shane makes one of two and Alice clanks both.

    Alice: Well, give me a chance to warm up.

    1. Loved this story, lwsho. They are a great family together especially when Bette can relax and let the love happen. Having another child will be wonderful for them and it will also help Angie, although she is almost too grown now, with her take charge personality. It is not necessarily in the genes, it is also the environment that shapes up into the people we become. If hr mother’s are anything to judge by she will be quite a young lady, beautiful, smart, loving and one hell of an alpha. Won’t she. This is fun and I enjoy it, although for some reason I smell trouble in the air. Tell me I’m wrong. If not, plese don’t let it be too serious. Happy New Year. Post when you can.

    2. lwshow2005, I LOVE ANGIE!!! I had some time after dinner to settle myself in front of the fire as it snows at the moment, and read this very generous post. I enjoy reading good fics that have Angie in them. They are usually written with such fun, love, and a lightness which can be very easy to indulge in. Can’t wait for baby #2!!!!!! :- )))) Happy New Year and can’t wait for the next chappy. Oh and btw, good selection for a movie.

    9. lwsho2005. i have been reading this story from the beginning, and i love it. Angie is DO flippin cute I can’t stand it! I wonder how she’ll react to not being the only child … hmmm. looking forward to the next chappy! Happy new year

    12. Dimples, thanks for reading and replying. I’ve been bumped off course and not sure if I’ll resume writing this one. At some point I may wrap it up with another chapter, but my author days may be over; kind of in a Fan Fic funk at the moment.
