    Angie’s happiest Mother’s Day … ever

It was the perfect gift and they loved that Angie was able to make one card for both of them. It really signified their unity. They would treasure it forever. It was like their first real Mother’s Day of really being together and celebrating motherhood.

Angie and Alice had planned more for the mommies that day. Angie left the bedroom and told them to wait she would be right back. A few minutes later she came back with a breakfast tray beautifully laid out with a continental breakfast on a linen napkin. The tray contained croissants, mini bagels, pastries, flavored butters and jellies and a small vase with two red roses.

They had no idea how Angie could have prepared such a beautiful tray or even where she got the food. They got their answer when Alice walked in with another tray laden with coffee, juice, fruit, creamers, sweeteners, plates, utensils and napkins. Alice had used her key to enter the house earlier. She and Angie had been conspiring all morning while Bette and Tina slept.

Alice and Angie were hanging out a lot lately and together they had planned the entire Mother’s Day celebration starting with breakfast in bed. They all sat in the middle of the California King-sized bed and enjoyed a wonderful family breakfast together as they read their cards and exchanged gifts.

Of course Angie had also made a card for Alice. Bette had helped Angie to make Alice’s gift. It was an “Angie and Alice Memory Book” filled with pictures, sayings, and poems that captured some favorite moments of the past six years together. Alice and Angie’s birthdays were within a couple days of each other so they always shared a birthday cake.

Most of the time they ended up wearing some of the cake so they had a lot of pictures with them grinning brightly into the camera lens with remnants of cake on their faces and in their hair. There were times when Bette and Tina couldn’t tell which one was the baby. Alice loved her gift and Angie enjoyed a wonderful morning with all her moms. She never felt luckier than she did at that moment; even Riley was allowed to join the celebration.
