After they finished breakfast Alice and Angie cleared the trays and cleaned up. They had more surprises planned for the day.

“OK ladies that’s enough lazing around. It’s time to get dressed. Our ride will be here in an hour and a half. You guys get ready I’ll help Angie. Dress in comfortable casual clothing, bring a sweater or light jacket and wear flat shoes.”

That was all the instruction Alice gave them. She didn’t give them room to argue so they just complied. Shane and Kit showed up at the house about an hour later dressed similarly but they didn’t give anything away either.

The chauffer driven car arrived at 11:00am and they were even more surprised to see that it was Monica driving. Alice had recommended Monica’s car service to Bette for the weekend getaway and when Bette and Tina expressed how pleased they were with the car service and how great and attentive Monica had been Alice decided to call her to arrange the transportation for this special day. As a matter of fact Bette had already booked Monica to take her and Tina to the airport for their trip to New York in a few weeks.

Monica greeted the family and had mimosa’s chilling for the adults and plain juice for Kit and Angie. Since there were six of them she drove the stretch limo so everyone was comfortably seated and on their way.

Monica drove the group to Marina Del Rey and just as she pulled into the parking lot of the Yacht Club a similar stretch limo pulled up next to them. The driver opened the passenger door for Emma, Liz, Suzie, Jackie, Dani and Cindy. Bette and Tina were so surprised to see their friends but they loved the idea of spending this special day with them.

When they had pulled up to the Yacht Club they figured they would be having lunch at the club but there was one more surprise. Shane had met some rich guy at a party that took a liking to her and he offered her the use of his private yacht for the family to celebrate Mother’s Day. There was a captain, a small crew, a chef, a bartender and wait staff. Leigh was the last to arrive, and since she was coming from the opposite direction she drove herself.
