    Lincoln Square, West Side – Tuesday – morning – Melvin Porter’s office

     

    Four days after the heroic rescue of the documents hidden in the Manhattan Bank’s vault, several events have happened, starting with the mysterious disappearance of Aaron Kornbluth, last seen in the supervisor’s office of the Manhattan Bank with William; the arriving of a notification to Melvin Porter saying that a forged document was detected in the New York Office or Property and Land Records, warning of a possible hearing; the visit of the FBI agents to the Lower Manhattan branch and to the main building, looking for Aaron Kornbluth; the summoning of Jodi to Peggy Peabody’s office, but perhaps the most important was the result of Aaron’s interrogation by Melvin’s men.

    For all those events today, Melvin Porter was very angry, he can’t understand how the faked documents entitling him the ownership of the Lower Manhattan building has been exposed the authorities suspect a fraud, even the employee he paid to do the forging in that office is currently in custody, and soon they will come over him, and everything because of Aaron; maybe he was partially telling the truth, maybe it was her sister, but it doesn’t have sense, Melvin thought…, it could be Nadia Karella, but that girl is probably dead now, but who was she working for? No Bette, but perhaps Peggy or Phillis…, wait, there was a time, two years ago when Nadia did some jobs for William, that is something that he hast to investigate; a phone call wakes Melvin from his lucubration, he recognized the caller.

    Melvin: “yes, Joe, what did you find?”

    Joe: “you baldy guy was a nut hard to crack”

    Melvin: “did you crack him?”

    Joe: “yeah, in many ways and parts”

    Melvin: (smiling) “I’m talking about the interrogation”

    Joe: “it may be true that he doesn’t know who has the documents now, and about the attack to your daughter, we are not sure, but for a moment he mentioned something that makes no sense, is he superstitious?”

    Melvin: “how could I know? What did he say?”

    Joe: “fey, he said “ask fey”, do you know any fey?”

    Melvin thought, fey? Maybe is not fey but Fay…, yeah Fay Buckley”

    Melvin: “did he mention the same about the documents?”

    2. Oh no….Melvin is about to see Tina! This does not sound good. I still do not know why Melvin should not know that Tina is at the company, but that is what everyone including Bette has indicated. What a drama!!!

      This was a very good chapter. Glad the girls got away from the bank without being detected. The plan worked well.

      Now, what in the hell is Fay Buckley been up to? Buckley, Fremont and Learner have been trailing after Bette for six months. What are they up to? It appears that Aaron has been working for Buckley instead of the other way around.

      This is an intriguing story and I want to know more. Thank you for this chapter and I hope the you can give us more soon.

        Yes, we still don’t know what is the problem with Melvin seeing Tina, but the concern is different with Bette than with Kit and the old generation. Bette fears that her father will use Tina against her, but Kit, Peggy have other motivations to avoid Melvin to see Tina, that is taylored with Melvin and Maxine’s pasts.

        Buckley is an important piece in this puzzle, and she will reveal something to Malvin very soon.

      What a fantastic chapter!

      Glad the girls were out of the building before Melvin and his man got to the bank. They are so clever!

      I am almost feeling sorry for Aaron, he surely will not survive this. So, he is the one working for Faye Buckley? We already knew Kelly and Jodi work for her. The bitches, i hope they get what they deserve. Stupid woman.

      Please let Tina stay hidden from Melvin, they can’t meet. Melvin will do anything to protect him self and if he can use Tina to get Bette he will do it.

        The good thing is that Bette is on her way to her office.

        I believe that Aaron will survive, he is receiving a dose of his own concoction.
