“Yes. I asked her out last night after a very emotional day.”

“Did anything come of this emotional day?”

“We slept together.”

“Wait…”

“We didn’t have sex. We just slept. After I impulsively decided to climb into bed with her.”

“Nice move.”

Shane smirked. Bette smiled. 

“It wasn’t like that. I just needed to hold her.”

“And how was that?”

“Best sleep I’ve had in months.”

Shane nodded. 

“What do you have planned for this date?”

“Nothing yet. I just…”

“Who are you?”

Bette smiled her famous Porter smile. The one that Tina loves. 

“I am Bette fucking Porter.”

“And do you know what Bette fucking Porter would do?”

This time Bette laughed. She knew exactly what needed to be done.

“Okay then. I’m going to let you get to it.” 

Shane stood up. Bette pulled her in.

“Thanks, Shane.”

“For what?” Shane said in her Shane way.

“For always kicking my ass when I need it to be kicked.”

Bette gave her another squeeze before she let her go. Shane smiled. 

“Hey Bette…” Shane said when she reached the door to the gate that separated their backyards.

“Yeah?”

“Stop hiding from it.”

“From what?”

Bette stood next to Tina’s garden with her hands on her hips, the towel around her waist and her eyebrows raised. 

“Happiness.”

“Looks like you’ve already gotten your run in,” Dana said.

Tina still had her hands on top of her head when she heard Dana’s voice behind her. She was walking slowly to get her heart rate down. 

“Thank God,” Alice chimed in. “Does this mean I can go back to bed?”

Tina took a couple of deep breaths and exhaled them slowly. 

“I ran to the park. I needed some endorphins.”

“I need some coffee,” Alice whined.

“I’m so glad you guys met me I was feeling really vulnerable.”

“Of course! I was going to do cardio this morning anyway. Now, I get to do it with two of my favorite people.” Dana said.

Alice grunted. Tina and Dana laughed. Tina missed them while she was in Vancouver. She missed their sisterhood. 

Dana led them through a series of stretches before their run. Then they walked to the first marker.

“Why were you feeling vulnerable, Tee?” Alice asked.
