(Helena) I do draw the line at beer Alice

Tina and Alice smile at each other.

They move outside to the patio for their meal, and then settle back over a few drinks.

(Helena) So Tina, since everyone else is too polite to ask

Helena nods towards the garden.

(Helena) What exactly am I looking at here?

Everyone turns to Tina’s vegetable garden and Tina and Bette meet eyes and smile.

(Helena) Did you pay someone to assemble this? Because you should most definitely be angling for a refund

Tina laughs.

(Tina) This was entirely my doing, it was an attempt at a fun project

Helena raises her eyebrows.

(Helena) My God, I thought you learned your lesson from when you tried to make that coffee table. Which was also at an interesting angle if I recall correctly

Alice laughs.

(Alice) Right angles are probably pretty important for a table, yeah?

Helena smiles at her.

(Helena) She still used it for years. So many drinks ended up on the floor

She smiles at Tina.

(Helena) When did you get rid of that thing?

(Tina smiles) It’s in the garage, I worked too hard on it to part with

Tina shrugs and Helena laughs. Shane nods towards the garden.

(Shane) I’m not too bad with that sort of thing Tina. I could help you if you still want to do it without hiring someone

Tina looks at her and smiles.

(Tina) Yeah? I’d like that a lot actually. I’ve reluctantly admitted it’s beyond me, but really I’d rather persist with it

Shane nods and smiles.

(Shane) It’s no problem

(Tina smiles) Thank you

Bette glances between them and smiles. Tina places her hand affectionately on Shane’s forearm as she rises from the table.

(Tina) I’ll get us some more drinks

Bette picks up some empty bottles and stands as well.

(Bette) I’ll come in with you

Bette and Tina make their way inside and the others all watch them go. Helena turns to Alice as she refills her water glass.

(Helena) So Alice, you seem a whole lot more relaxed about this situation. Tina’s won you over, has she?

(Dana) She brought her to a premiere

Shane smiles and Helena laughs, looking over at Alice and shaking her head.
