    Chapter 12

(Bette) I don’t know Tee, you don’t think we should at least make an appearance?

(Tina sighs) I guess we should

    She looks to Bette.

(Tina) Well how about dinner first? We could drop in later?

(Bette nods) Sure. Did you have anywhere in mind?

Tina thinks for a moment, and then smiles.

    (Tina) Yes actually

A short while later, they enter a small and lively restaurant and both pause to take in the familiar atmosphere.

(Bette) When was the last time you were here?

(Tina) God I can’t even remember. With you, so a long time ago

They smile at each other and then both turn to greet an approaching waiter, who smiles broadly at Bette.

    (Waiter) Bette

Bette raises her eyebrows and looks back at him.

    (Bette) Hi

    The waiter nods towards Tina.

    (Waiter) And you have company

He smiles at Tina and then looks back to Bette.

(Waiter) Well follow me, your usual table is free

The waiter moves towards their table and Bette and Tina look to each other as they go to follow him.

(Bette) Well it seems I still come here

Tina raises her eyebrows and smiles.

    (Tina) Seems so

They settle at their table and order their meals, sitting diagonally opposite each other and chatting away as they wait on their food.

(Tina) Kit mentioned that she’d seen you

    Bette nods.

(Bette) Yes. She turned up at my door and ended up staying the night

    Tina nods.

(Tina) And how was it to see her?

(Bette) It was great actually. I enjoyed spending time with her

Tina smiles as she listens, and leans over and takes Bette’s hand. Bette smiles at her as she entwines their fingers.

(Bette) And to see for myself what you were saying. How well she’s doing, and how different she is now

    Tina nods.

(Tina) I’m so glad you spent some time together. Glad for both of you

    They smile at each other.

(Bette) And Angie’s with her tonight?

Tina raises her eyebrows and smiles.

(Tina) Yes, you should have seen how fast she had a bag packed once I mentioned Kit had arrived home

Bette gives a small laugh and they both smile.

(Tina) They have such a bond the two of them. They’re very important to each other

    Comments

    1. Tina is running scared, I hope she ends her engagement because it is the right thing to do. I would not want to marry someone who is in love with someone else. I also hope once Bette regains her memory, she remembers the time she spent with Tina. Will be interesting to read which one finally admits to the other they are in love and want them back. Is Bette’s reason because she thinks Tina would be better off with someone else? Looking forward to the next chapter. Love your story

    2. Wow! The plot thickens. Damn you Alice but thank you Alice. They had enough cheating in their past, they have to get together again while clearly being single.
Kit’s take on the situation is very sweet. Getting to know her sister at an age that she previously missed.
Bette seems to be right about Julia. I guess Bette pretended to be with her only to come with a plus one to Tina’s engagement party. I do hope that Angie will be able to shed some more light on Bette’s behaviour towards Tina.
It’s going to be even more complicated now that Tina goes to Toronto. Maybe it’s time for some heartfelt letters from Bette.
Waiting for the next part will be tough! I’m so looking forward to it :)

    3. Wow! Why did Bette just walk away? Why did she not tell Tina she was still in love with her? Tinas basically asked her permission to get married and Bette said nothing? The plot thickens! PPS

    4. Well, I must say that I cannot figure Bette out. What was her thinking not to have a discussion when Tina ask if there was a chance for her and Bette before accepting marriage. Then again, if Tina was going to give Bette another opportunity to be in her life, why accept a marriage proposal with Sarah? Does this not indicate that Tina is not ready for that relationship either? That to me makes not sense either. Tina moving forward with Sarah because when she has feelings for Bette will only lead to heartbreak for both Tina and for Sarah. If I were advising Tina, I would tell her to go do some self evaluation and meditation and not to do anything until Bette has recovered her memory…. nothing with Bette and nothing with Sarah. Bette could regain her memory and conclude that her Tina avoidance was nothing but a façade’. Tina needs to make her choice based on her own happiness and if that means Bette…. it means Bette. But it obviously does not mean Sarah… for she is not “in love” with Sarah.

      Thanks for the chapter…

    5. Yessssssssssssss this episode was EVERYTHING and MORE!!!!! That argument scene was theee best. I love how Bette was challenging her and fighting. She was trying but I understand Tina doesn’t want to get hurt again. I love this story sooo much. I’m always anticipating and counting like ok I think I’m going to see this story title pop up today. Thank you ! I’m ready and patiently waiting for the next chapter.
