    Bette nods, examining her for a moment. (Bette) I wasn’t really expecting to see you Tina raises her eyebrows and has another sip of wine, and Bette watches her. (Bette) How did things go in Toronto? Tina looks over at her, holding her gaze for a moment. She then frowns and looks to her wine.

    Bette nods, examining her for a moment.

    (Bette) I wasn’t really expecting to see you

    Tina raises her eyebrows and has another sip of wine, and Bette watches her.

    (Bette) How did things go in Toronto?

    Tina looks over at her, holding her gaze for a moment. She then frowns and looks to her wine.

    (Tina) I won’t be getting married

    Bette raises her eyebrows and looks at her.

    (Bette) Sarah reacted badly?

    Tina looks up and holds her gaze, and Bette studies her for a moment.

    (Bette) You’re calling it off?

    (Tina) I have called it off

    Bette nods and Tina has another sip of wine. Tina looks over at her and raises an eyebrow.

    (Bette smiles) What?

    Tina shakes her head and smiles.

    (Tina) That’s your best attempt at not looking happy about this, is it?

    Bette smiles and leans her head back into the headrest.

    (Bette) Sorry, best I could manage

    Tina smiles and shakes her head, and Bette continues smiling at her.

    (Bette) You’re calling it off because of me?

    Tina slaps her arm with the back of her hand.  They share an affectionate look and Bette has a sip of her whiskey, looking at Tina for a moment before speaking.

    (Bette) What brought this on for you? When we last spoke you seemed pretty determined to work this out with her, and try and move forward with her

    Tina sighs and looks out over the water.

    (Tina) Angie slept the whole way there. It gave me a lot of time to just sit and think

    Bette watches her as she waits for Tina to continue.

    (Tina) When I accepted her proposal I had every intention of putting everything with you behind me, and creating a life with her. I had to accept that you really had moved on, and I’ve been trying so hard to do that too

    She looks to Bette.

    (Tina) But then this time with you recently

    They share an affectionate look, and Tina takes a breath.

    (Tina) I guess I’ve realised that it hasn’t worked, in any way. I’m still stuck on you

    They share a sad smile. Tina has a sip of wine and then looks to her glass and frowns.

    (Tina) She really is a wonderful person, and a wonderful partner. I’ve been trying so hard to be in it, and be happy in it. Because there’s so much about it that really is great

    2. Glad Tina ended her engagement and realized Sarah deserved someone who loved her. I know they are the same character, but I am going to miss this Bette with Tina. We really don’t know the current Bette other than she doesn’t want Tina in her life. Another great chapter, always looking forward to the next.
