The campaign office was ablaze with activity and people in abundance. Pierce and Jason were managing all the staffers and volunteers to maximize their efforts. Dani had made arrangements for Bette to visit several centers leading up to the final day of campaigning. Dani had just authorized the last push for social media spots and multi-media advertisements. Bette was still slightly behind Milner in the local polls, but steadily gaining ground. They were all hoping it would be enough to overstep Milner in the end.
Angie was consumed with her classes and Jordi. It seemed that they were joined at the hip and spent most of their free time together. Angie was putting the final touches on her science project to present to her class and Jordi was working on another article for her school’s on line magazine. Angie was only too happy to tell Jordi about the new found relationship developing between her parents. She was so looking forward to having her Mama back in her life on a regular basis. She had missed her Mama T so very much.
Helena Peabody and her spouse, award winning documentary director, Dylan Moreland, had returned to LA the previous evening from a recent business trip to London. They lived in an ocean front beach house in Malibu. They had been together for almost a decade and happily married for eight. Helena now ran much of the mammoth Peabody Corporation and was incredibly busy. Her mother, Peggy Peabody was now semi -retired and left the day to day operations of her business empire to Helena. Helena’s son, Wilson had just graduated college last year and was now employed by the Peabody Foundation. He was learning the business from the ground up and Helena hoped one day to have him share many of her responsibilities.
Dylan was a much sought after film director for documentaries and lead an award winning Film Company. She was also a noted photographer and has several successful gallery shows of her work. They had been great friends with Tina and Bette and remained in touch with both ex-wives after their divorce. Being in the same business, Dylan and Tina occasionally collaborated on selected projects together. Over the past two years, Dylan had expertly directed three episodes of Tina’s current TV show shooting in Toronto. Bette and Helena often worked in partnership with each other for their favorite charities. They both now sat on the board of the Peabody Foundation and Helena often requested insight from Bette on many business matters. They had become quite good business partners in many respects.
