Bette: So, we talk to him tomorrow and once again, explain that the Wilkins make all the decisions with respect to John David just as we make all the decisions for him.

Tina: His main question was: Why didn’t we invite the entire family to Scotland since we invited them to Yellowstone. That would have assured him that he and John David would be together all summer.

Bette: Okay, I understand that. But it’s no reason to call and demand an answer immediately.

Tina: No, it isn’t however, these are new feelings that he is experiencing and he has not learned to control them yet. He hasn’t even learned how to respond to them yet. I think we are okay. I just wanted to let you know what was going on.

Bette: So, we talk tomorrow. Do you think he going to be okay at the Wilkins’ tonight?

Tina: Yeah. He wanted to be there much more than to get answers to his questions. And he calmed down when I assured him, we would talk tomorrow.

Bette: I think you handled that well. Thank you. I would have been in the car and demanding he get in if I had received that call.  That would have embarrassed us all.

Tina:  No, you wouldn’t. That would have been too much of a Melvin move. You would have done exactly what I did. Give him a choice. Come home immediately and get his explanation or wait until tomorrow.

Bette: Okay, let’s get back out to the others. We need to discuss next weekend.

Tina: Oh yeah, Angie is coming home.

Bette:  Yeah, and she is going to be bringing Suzanne. I was thinking that we should have John David and Daniel to skip their next two weekends at each other’s house. I think they need a break from each other. And we have so much going on, I think he needs to be a little more involved in the family over these two weeks.

Tina: As long as we don’t present it as some kind of punishment, then I think they will be fine.

Bette and Tina came back to the group and got a bottle of water and sat down.

Margaret: Is everything alright?

Tina:  Yes, it seems that Daniel is a little upset with his moms and decided to resolve the issue tonight. Unfortunately, he is not getting his issue solved over the phone and has chosen to wait until tomorrow. So, I think he has calmed down and we will see him at his usual time tomorrow.
