Chapter 20 – Bringing Angie Home
Tina: That’s good.
Jason: This is good food. I love pancakes. And the eggs taste good too.
Bette: Well, that gives you protein to build those big muscles. Did you sleep okay last night Jason?
Jason: Yes, I’ve never seen a bed that is stored in the wall like that. That’s neat.
Lillabette: I slept good too. When I woke up, I forgot where I was but then I remembered.
Tina: Well, that bed is for special guest. And you and your brother are the first people to sleep in that bed.
Lillabette: Well, it’s a nice bed. It has lights overhead and it props up so you can see television and it was warm too.
Tina: Well, that good. And the good thing was that your mom and dad were in the next room.
Jason: But their bed didn’t come out of the wall like ours did.
Paris: I don’t think I even noticed the Murphy bed in that room. Actually, that is a nice idea for over flow company. I’ll have to keep that in mind when we start to furnish our new home.
Bette: Well, they come in handy when they are in the right place. But they are not where we generally put our adult guest.
Mary and Margaret came in a when the group was about half way through their breakfast. Paris noticed that they arrive together. Tina got up and prepared them a plate of food and they joined the family.
Paris: Well, did you two have a pleasant night?
Mary’s face immediately flushed while Margaret answered. Paris and Tina both noticed that and quickly looked away. Paris then looked at Tina and smiled as if saying “Okay… there is more than just friendship.”
Margaret: I slept like a baby. The beds are very comfortable here in this house and there is virtually no noise from the neighborhood.
The family finish up their breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen. Paris and Jeanette said goodbye to the group and James packed the car and the kids and he was off as well. Mary and Margaret went out to the patio and enjoyed another cup of coffee while Bette and Tina began to prep some of the meals for the week and start on tonight’s dinner. While they were working, Tina let Bette in on what she and Paris had seen at breakfast. Tina said that Paris now suspected that Mary and Margaret were more than friends and that even though there is truly no definitive evidence of that, the signs were pointing in that direction. Bette just stared at Tina in shock.
