    Author Notes: I was looking through my postings here & noticed that this chapter was somehow missing from this novel, so I've reposted it to be included. It seems like ages ago since this story was first posted. I have edited the other chapters as well & am posting the entire novel on AO3 too. Thanks to all of you who have read the original posting of this story.
    Summary:
    What transpires on the actual day of the election.

    “Well, we’ll praying.” Quiara raised her glass of mineral water in Tina’s direction.

    “Thank you all.” Tina wrapped her arm around Quiara’s waist. “But tell me how are you doing?”

    “I’m good.” Quiara smiled back at Tina. “A little movement every now and then, but we’re going okay.”

    “I nearly jumped out of my skin,” Shane shook her head “the first time I felt the baby move. It was unbelievable.”

    “Is the baby moving now?” Angie joined her family and stood beside her mama.

    “You would think with all this noise he would be.” Quiara rubbed her steadily expanding belly. “But all’s quiet right now. He’s probably sleeping.”

    “Thank god.” Shane nodded as if that’s a good thing.

    The group chuckled along with Quiara and Shane.

    The friends and family chatted some more about what was going on in their lives until Jason, Pierce’s assistant motioned for Tina to follow him. Tina excused herself from the group and told Angie she’ll be right back. She walked with Jason to a small room off to the side where Bette, Dani and Pierce were gathered.

    “Hey.” Tina smiled as she entered the room with Jason. He closed the door behind them. “What’s happening?”

    “We just lost a big district.” Bette rubbed her forehead in frustration.

    “How bad?” Tina frowned.

    “Milner’s now pulled ahead by three percentage points.” Dani said as she poured over reports and constantly refreshed the election website page.

    “How much of the vote is in?” Tina asked.

    “About thirty-five percent.” Pierce answered. “Still too early to call.”

    “But we needed that district.” Dani waved her hands. “Shit.”

    “Yes we did.” Bette pursed her lips in agreement. “But we’ll have to win without it now.”

    “What are the chances?” Tina bit her lower lip.

    “We still have a chance if Bette gets the support of a few more districts.” Pierce nodded as he reviewed updates on Dani’s tablet along with her.

    By this time Tina has made her way to Bette’s side and wrapped her right arm around the brunette. Bette placed a quick kiss on the side of Tina’s forehead and looped her arm around Tina also.

    “We’ve got a way to go yet.” Bette frowned at Tina.

    “You want to stay here or mingle a bit more?” Tina rubbed Bette’s back trying to sooth the tension she knew was smoldering underneath Bette’s cool demeanor.

    3. love these two women as you have portrayed them – such selfish love for each other. No one else will ever fill the need- desire in them like they both do for each other.

      I really like the family scenes, especially when Angie is finding her way in the world and her two mom’s are there guiding her along.

        I’m okay – sorta!! Ha!!

        Looks like I have a small fracture in my right shoulder from a fall – oops!! And of course I’m right handed – ha!
        Hopefully I won’t need surgery – follow-up with surgeon in another week.

        Anyway, this was a repost of this original chapter – there are a lot more chapters to this story. They’re listed above in the drop down box. It disappeared from the original listing – not sure why, so I reposted it. So, take a look if you need to catch up to get through the epilogue & sequel chapters.

        The entire novel just needs a final chapter to complete the story.

        I’m actually posting an update to DOH by tomorrow – so look for that.

          Both rotator cuffs have been injured on my “earth suit” and an assortment of aches & pains are hollering a spoiled toddler . . . but what can I do???

            Thanks for asking.

            Fortunately, the doctor discovered that I actually didn’t have a torn cuff – it was a small bones fracture & extreme inflammation with my arthritis in that shoulder.

            So, the pain has decreased & I’m doing mild therapy. So far – good.

            Enjoy that black beauty!!
