Tina: I don’t remember you moving much last night. If you did, you didn’t wake me.

Bette:  Must be my hormones demanding more sleep.

Tina:  Maybe we will have time for a nap this afternoon.

Bette:  Hmmm… maybe.

Angie and Daniel said goodbye to their moms and headed out the door. Tina was finishing up the kitchen and then checking her emails and messages. Bette was drinking more coffee and staring out the window at the pool and the ocean beyond in some day dream. Tina walked over and put her hand on her shoulder.

Tina:  What’s wrong honey?

Bette:  I don’t know. Maybe it’s just a mood swing from this menopause thing. I feel just a little melancholy this morning.  I don’t know why.  Everything is going well for us and the kids.  We are doing all we need to do to make this move complete. You’re here and we are getting along well.  Maybe that’s it. Maybe it’s just hit me how close I came to losing you this week, and its scared me a little.

Tina: Bette, we didn’t come that close. You acted promptly and decisively. And we are fine as a result. Bette, don’t morn a loss that didn’t happen. I’m here and you’re here and we are fine. I love you, Bette. I am here for you, just as you are here for me.

Bette:  I love you T.!  Yeah, your right. I need to just pull on my boots and look at what is and not what could be. Thank you, Sweetheart!

Tina:  You better go finish getting ready, and let’s get going. Vivian will be waiting on us.

Bette:  Okay, I’m on my way.

Bette noticed that Tina seemed to have a little more energy and had a healthy glow in her cheeks. It seemed to motivate Bette to get moving and leave the morning melancholy behind.

The trip to Santa Monica took only 30 minutes.  Vivian was waiting on the front porch. Tina went to meet her and try to convenience her to give her a key. Bette got the wheel chair out and took it up to the door.

Tina:  Vivian has agreed to take the lock box off the door and give us the front door key. If something happens that we do not close next week, then our deposit will be reduced by the expenses to replace the locks on the house.
