Chapter 22 – Thanksgiving Week
The guide told them that starting at 2:00, there would be a couple of shows they had reservations for and then at 4:00 would be the Studio Tour. They would see the Water World Stunt Show and do a VIP tour of a movie being made. Tina was interested in seeing what Universal was presenting to the public. Most of the movies she had worked on were not convenient to take her children on tours of. The afternoon was filled with adventure for the family. The family really loved the Studio tour in that it went through several sets for various movies and had many of the props including the train being attacked by a mechanical shark from the Jaws production. The tour from start to finish took an hour and was high in demand as it was the highest rated attraction at the park.
After the Studio Tour, the family made their way to Universal City and then to Buca di Beppo. It was time for dinner. Bette invited Laura to have dinner with the family as there would be plenty of food. Buca di Beppo was an Italian restaurant who served food family style. Bette had pre-ordered the dinner and made reservations in a private dinning room. The family was shown to their table and began to bring out the food and drink immediately. A huge bowl of Cesar salad, large dishes of pasta called Penne San Remo which consisted of chicken, artichokes, dried tomatoes, peas and a white wine cream sauce. There was also a chicken limone (lemon and capers) and green beans and Brussel sprouts with prosciutto and parmesan cheese. a bowl of roasted vegetables and fresh baked bread.
The group was ready to eat. To Daniel’s delight, the table had a lazy Susan from with they could serve their plates. To drink, there was sweet ice tea and lemonade. Bette decided that they could have dessert at home along with their after-dinner coffee. The restaurant was outside of the park grounds but in close proximity of the park entrance. When the meal was over, Bette gave the family an option on whether to go home or go back into the park and enjoy the fireworks which were scheduled for right at 9:00. They opted to go back to the park and enjoy the fireworks.

Great solution for helping Suzanne. I also like the various positive ways for her to repay the loan. Maybe 10 years down the road as she repays the loan it gets distributed again. When she has paid it off they can tell her the truth and they all can create an on going scholarship for deserving Yalie with B & T millions!!!!
So, get writing those 10+ years.
Thanks, I love your work!
You do realize that Suzanne’s solution originated with the investigation of Melvin Porter? Its one of the things that I admire about Bette. She absorbs the nuggets of wisdom which appear from various sources. I do like the fact that Bette and Tina want to help Suzanne but do not want Suzanne to be aware of where this help is coming from. And with this solution, neither Angie nor Suzanne will be in a position of being obligated to the other. If for some reason, their friendship sours, Suzanne will keep her support. And if anything should happen that Bette and Tina do not survive until Suzanne finishes her education, the money will still be there to assist her.
I like Suzanne as a friend for Angie… I like that she has red hair and is studious like Angie and perhaps a little more so. Do not look for any romance ever between Angie and Suzanne… that is just not in the cards and it would be a disaster for both of them.
Thank you for reading and commenting… I appreciate you pointing out Suzanne’s solution.
