    Chapter 26 – A Day to Review

Bette:  Oh yeah. I know that when I run a temperature of a couple of days, I seem to lose weight as well. And if that is all it is, then I won’t worry. But if you start losing more, then we will need to check and find out what’s going on.

Tina: I think this is just temporary Sweetie. I wish it were permanent. I’ll be back to my “normal” in a week or two. Yeah, if I do lose more, we will get it checked out.

    Bette:  How are you feeling?

Tina: I feel good. I still feel that I do not have the stamina that I had prior to the surgery, but it’s only been a week. I think it’s going to take a couple of more before I truly return to my old energy levels. Ready to go? How about a bowl of yogurt, granola, fruit and nuts this morning?

Bette:  Sounds good. Will it be enough for the kids?

Tina:  I’ll increase their portion and it should be enough. I’ll send them some granola bars and an apple as a mid-morning snack. But I really think that they will be fine until they have lunch.

They then went to the kitchen and started the coffee and went ahead and prepared the bowls of yogurt and fruit. They then wrapped each one and put them in the refrigerator and decided to go out and swim. The air was cool but the water was warm from the days of California sun. Bette and Tina began to swim laps. Bette had put on a swim cap but Tina had not. Tina’s hair now being short, she did not believe she needed one. They swam for a good thirty minutes without much break but at a leisurely pace. Neither pushed themselves to achieve speed or distance. Tina stopped first. She had reached the upper limits of her energy and needed to rest a few moments. Bette swam up to her when she noticed her hanging onto the wall of the pool.

    Bette:  T? Are you okay?

Tina:  Yeah, I’m fine. I just need to rest a bit. I think I’ve done enough for today. I’m going to get out.

Bette: Do I need to help you?
