    Chapter 27 – Mary Southerland

Tina:  She is taking on more adult qualities. And she is really a beautiful young lady. She is going to break some hearts before she finds the right partner. I just hope she is not in a hurry. I hope she finds the right partner, but not too quickly.

Bette:  Something tells me that she will set her own schedule. It doesn’t matter what we want for her, it will totally depend on what her heart tells her. Did I tell you that I discussed the mama lesbian grizzly bear with her?

Tina:  Oh, no.  What did you say?

Bette:  I told her if she ever brought home someone who was totally disrespectful of her, that she would see the mama lesbian grizzly bear come out in me and my primary goal will be to protect my cub. Then I would let you explain what happened.

    Tina:  Me?  Why me?

Bette:  I would hope that you would protect me from Angie’s anger?

Tina:  Yeah, I could see that. Yeah, she’s going to be rather angry with you or at least humiliated. I might have to step in and smooth things over.

Bette:  Well, I promised that I would not respond in such a manner unless her potential partner posed a serious threat to her well-being or was seriously disrespectful to us or to her. I am sure that if such an event should happen, you would have no problem foreseeing it.

Tina:  I certainly hope nothing like that ever happens.  I hope Angie has enough self-respect not to allow herself to be associated with someone who would be that disrespectful.

Bette:  That would be my hope as well. But I thought it only fair that Angie has fair warning that if that were not the case, things out of the ordinary could happen.

Tina:  So, what did she purpose to do about that?

Bette:  She said she would never date anyone who would be disrespectful to her or to us.  I reminded her that new love is sometimes blind. I then promised to give her fair warning when I felt the urge to go grizzly.

Tina laughed:  Yeah, give me that warning as well.

Bette:  Oh, I will. But I will expect that if things are that bad, I may have to hold you back as well. I’ve seen you go grizzly a time or two.
