    Chapter 3

    Chapter 3

Later that evening, Tina, Alice, Shane and Dana sit around Alice’s loungeroom having a beer, all comfortably sitting on the couch and armchairs and Alice sitting on a cushion on the floor.

(Alice) The Supreme Court ruled in favour of same-sex marriage a couple of years ago

Tina raises her eyebrows as she has a sip of beer.

(Tina) Wow, that’s great. I kind of thought it might have been sooner though

    (Alice nods) Yeah

Alice has a sip of beer.

    (Dana) Ronald Reagan died

    Alice looks at her.

(Alice) That’s the first thing you fucking tell her?

Dana shrugs and Tina smiles at them.

(Tina) Are the Democrats or Republicans in now?

(Alice) Republicans, unfortunately. Donald Trump is President

    Tina sits blinking at her.

(Shane smiles) Maybe go easy on her Al, some things are just too much to take in

(Dana) Did we have the internet in 2002?

Alice throws a cushion at her.

(Tina smiles) Yes Dane, I know what the internet is

Shane smiles and looks at her watch.

(Shane) Well I’m going to call it you guys

(Alice sighs) Yeah, me too. I have to be up early to send around messages to cancel this party

    Alice looks to Tina.

(Alice) Unless of course you feel like ripping it up in a room full of people you don’t know

    Tina smiles.

(Shane) Let it go Al, we know you love to throw a party but I think the guest of honour being stuck fifteen years in the past might be a bit confusing for everyone

(Alice) I think it sounds kind of fun, not like any other party I’ve been to

    Tina glances between them.

(Tina sighs) You know what? Throw the party

    Alice laughs.

    (Alice) Are you serious?

(Tina) I don’t want to spend the next three days moping around your apartment. It might be fun

(Dana) This seems like a bad idea guys

(Alice) Don’t worry so much, it’ll be great!

(Shane) Well maybe downsize. Let’s cancel for anyone Tina wouldn’t want knowing what’s going on

Tina looks at her and Shane smiles back at her.

    (Shane) Other Tina

(Alice) OK yeah, no work colleagues, just friends

    1. Great chapter!

I must say Bette as well Tina handle this pretty good, how horrible it must been for them that Tina forgot 15 years it could turn out positive as they get to know each other again. Whatever happened in the past 15 years maybe they can eventually talk it out and make up.

For them to be so hostile especially Bette, there must be a reason for it and i really want to know what brought them to that point.

      Thanks for the fast update!

    2. Interesting chapter…. Trying to give Tina some information but not too much so that she doesn’t get overwhelmed.

My bets are that at this party, she is going to find out something that is probably going to upset her. My bets are that she finds out about the carpenter which sets her head spinning. Could that be what finally broke the two up… Tina just never got over the carpenter and Bette figured out that Tina was never going to forgive her, so they decided to break up? But then why is Bette so bitter and distant? Did they ever reconcile after the carpenter? I guess we will find out soon enough…

      Thanks for the chapter….
