    Chapter 30 – Toronto – The Move

Pierce:  So, she gets up early and runs every morning?

Tina:  Yes. It’s something she just started a few weeks ago. She seems to love it. Helps her concentrate and feel good physically. Improved her appetite and her sleep as well. Improves her disposition, too.

Pierce:  Maybe I should think about doing something like that.

Bette:  Tina and I are running every other day.  It does wonders for me. My concentration is better. My moods are better. I’m not having as many menopause side-effects as well.

Pierce:  I’m not sure I want to hear about your menopause side-effects.

Bette:  Well… we will just leave it at that then.

Tina and Bette then served the plates and Angie came in to eat.

Angie:  Hey Pierce. How have you been?

Pierce:  I’ve been well and you?

Angie:  Oh, I’m great.  Better now that I’m eating breakfast.  Pass the ketchup please.

The family sat and enjoyed their breakfast.

Bette: Angie, you better take the running shoes you were wearing or you won’t be able to rotate your shoes.

Angie:  Almost forgot that.  Thanks mom.  I’ll set them in the trunk area so they can breathe while I’m in school.

Tina: Now you text us when you can and let us know how you are doing.

Angie:  Oh, I will. You’ll get three or four text per day. Now you guys will be back either Thursday or Friday?

Tina:  Friday for certain. Earlier if we can manage it. We won’t start our work in earnest until tomorrow.

Bette:  Maybe we can work a couple of hours this evening. We’ll make good use of our time.

Tina:  You are forgetting. We are going to have some jet lag as a result of this trip. It’s a five-hour flight and a three hour time change.

Bette:  We will do what we can. We will let you know if anything changes.

Angie:  I need to get upstairs and get ready for school.  Pierce. Nice to see you again. Perhaps I will see you on the way out the door.

Pierce:  Nice to see you, Angie. If you need anything from here this week, just give me a call.

Tina:  I’m going to clean up the kitchen. Bette, can you check the laundry? We need to get upstairs and complete our packing and getting ready and be ready for the car. It should be here in about an hour and a half or so. Pierce?  Would you like some more coffee?

    1. What a surprising ending, Bette asking Tina to be her wife again.
Is it to soon? if it feels right for both of them, time doesn’t matter.

They have packed Tina’s stuff and are ready to move in a new direction, new jobs and looking for a new beach house.

    2. Bibi,

I actually am glad that you were surprised. Is it too soon? I guess it depends on how you feel about these two. Bette and Tina have taken the time to reestablish their relationship. They have a reasonable understanding of what happened to break them up. Tina made the effort to come back and did it voluntarily. They are both older, mature women who know who they, I believe know each other, as well as any two people can know each other. Life has it limits and sometimes, you have to accept that there are risks in every decision you make. Tina has displayed that she is willing to do whatever it takes to be with Angie, and she loves Bette.

The choice to me for both of them is really rather simple. Take this opportunity to make a life together or say goodbye forever. If things do not turn out perfectly? Well, I guess that’s life. But in the eyes of my Bette and my Tina, it is better to have tried and lose than never to try at all.

      Thanks for reading…

    3. Well, well, well …. A marriage proposal!
      I can’t say I’m surprised.
Tina really has several all ties with her past, with Carrie and with her job with Showtime. She set out to do this, she knew she wanted it, so made her plan and carried it through perfectly.

All the time Bette was by her side, encouraging her but not pressing or pressuring her. Making sure this was really what Tina wanted.

This more than NY I think was more probably more emotional for Tina, cos she now knows, everything is done and she just has to concentrate on her new life with Bette and Angie, her new job and looking for the perfect beach house for their future together.

Angie and Shane are going to be blown away by this news ….. perfect timing, I think !!

    4. Most who have read this story have said they were surprised by the marriage proposal. I think that both Bette and Tina are somewhat surprised themselves. Not something Bette planned but felt that it was the right thing to do.

These two women are a pair of equals in their relationship. They are the left and right arm of the couple. Will they never have problems? Doubtful. There will always be something which will rub one the wrong way. But they have a plan on how to work those bumps, stops and starts out. They now have sufficient information and commitment and love to go forward with A New Life.
