Chapter 30 – Toronto – The Move

They both got into the car and breathe a huge sigh. They had been rushing all morning. And because Pierce arrived late, they had felt rushed all morning. Bette checked her cell phone and saw it was fully charged. She then put coat and purse to the side and grabbed Tina’s hand and held it for a moment.
Bette: I feel better now that we are on the way to Toronto. This will be one more milestone we will have achieved once we get through this.
Tina: Yes, I think so too. It means that I will have totally moved in with you and Angie and my permanent home is now in Los Angeles. I do love you, Bette Porter.
Bette: I love you too, Tina Kennard. I am so proud of you. You are being so decisive in your decisions and your choices. I don’t remember you being so in control of your life as you seem to be right now.
Tina: It’s because I know what I want for my life now, better than I have in the past. I want my family. Of that I am clear and I have no doubts. And this is just a part of the process to getting that back.
Bette leaned over and kissed Tina softly on the lips and then said.
Bette: Thank you for allowing me to go with you on this trip. It makes me feel good that you want me with you.
Tina: I do want you with me. You make my life easier and more certain that I have made the best decision for me. I never want to lose you, Bette.
Bette: I never want to lose you either Tina. We are headed on the right path. A few steps every day.
They rode quietly for the rest of the way to the airport. They were taken to the baggage check-in for United Airways. Tina and Bette presented the tickets to check their luggage and then headed to the ticket counter to get their boarding passes. They were directed to security and presented their identification and went through security. Their carry-on luggage was examined and x-rayed. The both had their laptops in the luggage as well as their cosmetics. Everything went smoothly. They then headed for the gate for their direct flight to Toronto.

What a surprising ending, Bette asking Tina to be her wife again.
Is it to soon? if it feels right for both of them, time doesn’t matter.
They have packed Tina’s stuff and are ready to move in a new direction, new jobs and looking for a new beach house.

I actually am glad that you were surprised. Is it too soon? I guess it depends on how you feel about these two. Bette and Tina have taken the time to reestablish their relationship. They have a reasonable understanding of what happened to break them up. Tina made the effort to come back and did it voluntarily. They are both older, mature women who know who they, I believe know each other, as well as any two people can know each other. Life has it limits and sometimes, you have to accept that there are risks in every decision you make. Tina has displayed that she is willing to do whatever it takes to be with Angie, and she loves Bette.
The choice to me for both of them is really rather simple. Take this opportunity to make a life together or say goodbye forever. If things do not turn out perfectly? Well, I guess that’s life. But in the eyes of my Bette and my Tina, it is better to have tried and lose than never to try at all.

Well, well, well …. A marriage proposal!
I can’t say I’m surprised.
Tina really has several all ties with her past, with Carrie and with her job with Showtime. She set out to do this, she knew she wanted it, so made her plan and carried it through perfectly.
All the time Bette was by her side, encouraging her but not pressing or pressuring her. Making sure this was really what Tina wanted.
This more than NY I think was more probably more emotional for Tina, cos she now knows, everything is done and she just has to concentrate on her new life with Bette and Angie, her new job and looking for the perfect beach house for their future together.
Angie and Shane are going to be blown away by this news ….. perfect timing, I think !!
Most who have read this story have said they were surprised by the marriage proposal. I think that both Bette and Tina are somewhat surprised themselves. Not something Bette planned but felt that it was the right thing to do.
These two women are a pair of equals in their relationship. They are the left and right arm of the couple. Will they never have problems? Doubtful. There will always be something which will rub one the wrong way. But they have a plan on how to work those bumps, stops and starts out. They now have sufficient information and commitment and love to go forward with A New Life.
