Chapter 33 – Days of Fun and Then New Haven

Tina: We will send you a text to let you know we arrived safely. But we will definitely call you on Monday morning. Now is there anything that we need to do for you before we leave you tomorrow?

Angie:  I don’t think so. I think we have done everything we planned. I have not thought of anything else.

Bette: Just make sure you pay your fees for the semester on Tuesday. You have the money in your account. If you have any problems, let us know. We will figure it out. Now you need to locate the teller machines and the bank branches here. You are going to need to use them in the next couple of days. Your allowance has already started to deposit in your account. Let us know if you need anything. Okay?

Tina: Oh, and do us a favor?  How about giving Marilyn a call tomorrow or Monday and thank her for her help. Keep Marilyn informed as to what is going on in your life as well. She loves you and you might need her sometime.

Angie:  Yes, I’ll do that. She is my second grandmother, even if she is an adopted one.

Mary: This has been such a lovely evening. Suzanne, it has been a real pleasure to get to know you. I know your parents must be proud of you.

Suzanne:  They seem to be proud of me. But I get the feeling that things have been happening so fast that they really haven’t grasp the reality of it yet. It may hit them when they see that I am not at the dinner table or expected to come in the door anytime soon. I’m going to miss my family, but this dream opportunity was not something I was going to let go of, either. And I am going to make the best of it.

Angie: Here we are in New Haven. I’m a Yalie! Thank you, Mama T and Mama B, for making this happen for me. I know this was my choice. But you made this possible and for that I will always be grateful. Daniel, I hope you do well in school and you enjoy it as much as you think you will. You are smart kid Daniel – use it to make your life what you want it to be. And try not to drive the girls crazy.
