    (Tina) I must have been crazy to let things fall apart with you. To have ever let you go Bette feels like she might fall over. (Bette) Tina… (Tina) I really wish you’d stop calling me that. You only ever call me Tina when you’re mad at me Tina draws back and meets her eyes.

    (Bette) Tina…

    Tina draws back and meets her eyes.

    (Tina) Are you always mad at me these days?

    (Bette) No. It’s just… Calling you anything else wouldn’t be appropriate

    (Tina smiles) Since when are you so hung up on appropriateness?

    Bette looks at her for a long moment.

    (Bette) This just isn’t how you feel. I can’t carry on with you like this when I know your true feelings towards me

    Bette goes to take a step back and Tina reaches out and stops her. They both stop still and look at each other for a moment before Tina draws her back in and Bette relents. They resume their close embrace and Tina continues speaking softly into her neck.

    (Tina) Do you remember our five year anniversary?

    Bette closes her eyes.

    (Bette) Yes, of course. That was a very long time ago

    (Tina) Tell me what you remember

    (Bette) Tina

    (Tina) Tell me, please? Tell me about it

    (Bette sighs) Zia’s

    (Tina) Yes, and?

    (Bette) The food was amazing. The wine was amazing

    (Tina) Yes

    Tina runs her hands over Bette’s hips.

    (Tina) Anything else you remember?

    (Bette smiles) You were teasing me, all night

    (Tina) And how was I doing that baby?

    Bette smiles, finding herself becoming lost in the memory.

    (Bette) Your hands in the car while I was driving, your feet under the table in the restaurant

    (Tina smiles) And then what happened baby?

    (Bette smiles) Tee, I can’t say it

    Tina smiles at finally hearing the reference.

    (Tina) Well I can say it baby

    Tina holds her closer and speaks directly into Bette’s ear.

    (Tina) You finally couldn’t stand it any longer, and so you slowly fucked me under the table while we waited for our dessert

    Bette takes a sharp intake of breath and stops still as she tightens her hold around Tina’s back. Tina enjoys her reaction and stands still while continuing to hold her. After a moment Tina begins to slowly move them again to the music.

    2. Omg – can you imagine what that’s like for tina . She doesn’t know what has happened in the last 15 years of their life . The miscarriage , the carpenter, the Jodi , the Henry , the everything . Even the amazing times . Must but heart breaking for both of them . My heart my poor heart just thinking about it . Tina only sees Bette the way she saw her in 2002. Must be so weird thinking that she has a kid as well .

    5. This is so hard on Bette and Tina but i really hope when Tina comes out of this Monday she will remember these past week, remember how happy and in love she is with Bette, then and now.

      Looking forward to the next chapter!

    6. Why is it that I get the feeling that when Tina finds out why she and Bette are not together, she is going to have a huge crashing of her world. Bette seems to simply be at a loss as to how to handle what is going on with Tina. She still is very attracted to Tina but Tina’s current relationship with Bette, is the one in which Bette knows will emerge when everything is put back to where it was. Bette cannot allow Tina’s seductive behavior and current state of mind be the basis for a change in their relationship. That would be abuse anyway you cut it. If there is to be a future between Bette and Tina, the both need to start with the same set of facts with regard to their history and make decisions and formulate a relationship based on that. No matter how tempting it is for Bette, she cannot yield to Tina.
